The only complaint I have on the car is that I wish it had more torque. (3rd gen). It's got enough power for me alone, but with 3 or 4 people in the car, no way. Normally I wouldn't complain because of the wildly awesome fuel economy I get in the car. (three tank average of 43 mpg). The thing is, the Fit Sport w/CVT I have is rated for a max of 36mpg. In the Civic, the turbo version of our engine is rated to give up to 40mpg in the larger heavier car. I can't imagine it would do worse in the Fit. Then we certainly wouldn't have lack of torque. Fit Si, anyone? Anyone?

2017 MT which we bought to flat tow behind our RV. Complaints?:
1. Geared too low
2. Too much road noise
3. Love it so much we drive it all the time!

Biggest thing I don't like is the high rpm on the hwy. Wish it had 1 more gear with a much taller gear ratio. Under the hood, its extremely difficult to see the coolant expansion bottle, to check its level.

This is one of the reasons I went with the CVT. I spend a lot of time cruising at 75mph in my Fit.

This helped take the sting out of my wife making me get my '09 with an AT.

After almost 30 years of driving many different cars, I have to say the CVT in my Fit is the first automatic transmission that I actually enjoy driving. Don't knock it till ya try it. :-P

Nice! So 65mph is maybe 2200 or so rpm?

It'll cruise at 4K all day long and with good fuel mileage. Since I'm using urethane engine mounts the vibration is intense under 3K. It works out.

After 11 years, what I really hate is the road noise. Mind you that 1) I knew that this was a problem for this car prior to buying it and 2) It was more silent than my previous car. However, the road noise is more than I like. I did have "under coating" installed in the wheel wells and I regret it now as it held water and caused rust/rot in front of the rear wheels.

I also never liked that the Fit crash test showed weakness in the foot well. Having your foot in the dead pedal position leaves you open to major injury in the event of a crash. I also knew this prior to purchase.

Otherwise, I like the car a lot. Great daily driver and great utility car.

I've modded little. After the initial purchase, I added the USB for the radio, and remote door locks. The car is otherwise stock.

I LOVE the weathertech floor mats and will always get a set for any new cars we buy.

It seems to be geared the same as my miata. 130km/h = 4000rpm in 5th gear. But with half the power, I can't imagine it would do well with any taller gearing. As it is, it feels surprisingly snappy for how underpowered it is.

Agreed with the road noise, but that kind of comes with the territory of little city cars.

But yeah it's surprisingly enjoyable for a little gutless econobox. I love it

I just grab my bright flashlight which I have hanging on the wall in the garage and place it right on top of the coolant bottle lid and then shine the light straight down into the bottle. The coolant level is instantly visible and very clear. I started doing this when I had a bad coolant leak for a while and had to check the level every time I drove the car until I got it fixed.

My feelings exactly! Also was disappointed when I noticed rear brakes are drums. In fact I might convert to disc...

Do you track your car?
If not, the drum setup is probably just as efficient for regular or random "spirited" driving.
Rear disk conversion will mostly just lighten your wallet.
