the head rests are a pain point for me as well. I find that from time to time flipping them backwards and changing seating position can help.

As for the sun: the sun be bright, use sunglasses.

 

I don't like to wear sunglasses. But actually the problem with the reflection is not so much about the brightness of it but that the reflection reduces visibility to see objects that are in shadow areas.

 

Seat sweats on long rides, ventilated seats would have been a nice touch.

 

Seats are also too hard. I'm missing the comfortability of 80's American and French car seats.

 

I know it's been a while since I updated this lol. I did replace the front struts with KYB, and all of the mounting parts with genuine Honda parts. After all the back and forth with the USELESS dealership I bought it from(Lundgran Honda of Auburn, MA.) I got sick of them looking at me like I was crazy, or hearing things, so I replaced it all myself. On the first ride out after replacing it all I felt the pure joy of it riding like new, and quiet. And the pure Pissed off feeling of how the dealer screwed me, and didn't care about me as a customer, because I knew the strut mounts and bearings were bad. So, yes after the struts it was wayyyyyy better. I also have aftermarket Enkei 16x7 wheels now with 195/55/16 tires, at 33psi, and they are really smooth.

 

Can I assume that you have leather seats? Because the woven fabric of fabric seats is something that is ventilated. I am not sure what the lure is, of leather, as a material for seats. It is more expensive than fabric made from synthetic fibers or even cotton, linen, or hemp fibers. It seems to me that fabric is more comfortable in every situation I can think of.Feels lLess cold when the ambient temperature is cold. less hot when it is hot. It doesn't necessarily look better – although that depends upon the particular fabric if is being compared with, of course. Does leather last longer?

 

Hmm. I find mine to be comfortable. Although how hard they feel may depend upon one's weight, and the amount of padding in one's behind. I weigh about 140 pounds. Sorry, I don't have a picture of my behind.

 

gas mileage is meh. im averaging 29 mpg on my 2011 lol
beats my truck though. my 2016 F150 with the 5.0 averaged 16 so ill take 29 lol

 

You must have an auto/tranny.
I never get less than 39 mpg in the summer...most tanks I get 40-42
Winter drops a couple mpg...due to warm-up times.

Yup automatic. Not too bad but I was expecting better mpg. At least 35 haha.

Gas mileage is Great, I've averaged 36 mpg though ive only had my 09 GE8 Base model for 2 weeks. But as for what I don't like, there's a few things!
1st there is no map light, I got a map light from a 2013 Civic and wired it using a fuse tap since its one wire for power and it grounds to the body.
2nd the daytime running lights are dim
3rd no fog lights but the wiring, relay and fuse is there.
4th the front bumper. What I would like is to find a 3rd Gen at a salvage yard and get the front bumper and see if it fits the ge8 fit.
a bumper and headlight swap from a 3rd gen would be nice.

 

I like the GD for what it is, so no complaints about hard plastics or that the speed and so on

Seating is a bit too high, probably due to the tanks underneath
Gearbox seems like a huge pain in the ass to remove, which I have to do because it has the common input shaft bearing
Mileage could be better than 7l/100km aka 33mpg. But it's winter and I drive it like I stole so eh.

 

I am realizing that my Gd3 fit is nowhere near as easy to work on as my EG civic. Also legroom isnt as great.

 

Dunno about Civics, but having just dropped the gearbox for a rebuild... yeah it's cramped. But my only real complaint though is with the rear mount and starter (which my friend removed needlessly). Everything else was more or ok. Legroom is good but then I'm pretty short.

 

I'm 5'10" and the seats are perfect for me.
Mine gets 40mpg consistently. The only time it's less is in the winter because of warm-ups. And then it only drops to 38-39 mpg...and I also run the rpm's up on every shift.

 

There are 2 things I don't like about my fit:

1. The A pillar blind spot
2. The gear spacing of the 6 speed manual. (Gears 1-4 are fine, 4, 5 , and 6 are too close together, revs too high in 6th over 65 mph)

I'm not thrilled about the rev hang either but I can deal with it. No complaints otherwise.

Personally I find gears 1-4 are fine, it's just 5 and 6 are almost redundant. They may as well have gotten rid of 5th gear all together, as it's practically the same as 6th (only 100-200rpm drop - hardly noticeable).

Aside from that, I love our quirky little ray of sunshine (Majestic Yellow Pearl)!

 

This is my first Fit (2019 EX).. bought it in February this year. I use it for commuting to work on weekdays (~72 miles round-trip), and it pretty much sits in the garage on weekends. We've had a couple Honda Pilots in the past and loved them (2006 & 2015). Sold the 2006 Pilot in 2020 for $3800 once it got to 218K miles.. Honda cars definitely hold their value.

I previously had a 2015 Hyundai Accent GS hatchback (mostly garbage), but alright for commuting. Bought it at around 36K a few years back, and sold it at 120K just after picking up the Fit. I had to get rid of that Accent.. too many things started going wrong with it right around 100K (replaced the cat & o2 sensors, gas cap went bad, pcv valve, vapor canister purge valve, etc). I do all the car work around here myself, but it still adds up, and this just started getting annoying.

I've only found one thing that I'm not too fond of with the Fit.. the front seats sit too low in the front. I'm about 6'2" tall, and searching around, this seems to be a fairly common issue with tallerish folks. I've seen lots of posts about people stacking up washers and getting longer bolts to raise the front mounts. I've even thought about putting a skateboard wheel under mine with longer bolts, but this all seems like it could cause some safety problems in an accident... so I haven't. I did pick up some lower cushion seat covers with a little extra padding in them that seem to help, and I'm kinda getting used to it now anyway. I've put a couple thousand miles on it since I got it, and I'll give it some more time.

I'm happy I found this site.. I've seen a lot of good ideas in different posts about all sorts of stuff. I'll definitely be checking out the different forums a lot on here. Anyway, I feel like I'm just rambling at this point, so I'll finish.

Edit: Oh, on the mileage thing, I've been super happy with mine. I'm seeing 38.5 mpg min and usually more like 39.5 mpg generally. The Accent was decent, but never that good.

 

I have the same complaint about my wife's '20 DX. My older '09 Sport has comparable legroom but the seats have better thigh support for me.

Another option you could add to the list of improvements is moving the entire seat back using adapters for the mounting rails. This company sells them:
