What did you do to your GE fit today?
Hey guys, I've been rethinking selling my GE because it makes no sense to get rid of a car that's paid off & is reliable for something that's more fun....when I already own a fun car & that blows a fun daily out of the water.
That said, I'd like to do something to it to make it a better daily/bring it into 2016 a bit.
My thoughts are:
-Koni orange all around (already have rears that I've had sitting around for over a year)
-Swift Springs
-Replace RPF1 with something I don't hate
-Dynamat in doors
-Replace speakers in doors/add amp
-Re-locate bluetooth mic & mate steering wheel controls w/ head unit.
Am I missing anything? If I could make the car more comfortable that'd be the biggest win, but I'm not going to replace the seats b/c seat airbags.

That list looks like a good start. I'm saving up for Bilsteins to replace my swifts for the reasons BMW mentioned. I want a teeny tiny bit more drop/fill the wheel well better. HOWEVER! I did run Koni Oranges (i think you bought those rears on here for super cheap last winter...I was eyeing them as well) and H&R springs on my Civic hatch and they were much better than stock for me.
I second the retrofit. Add some nice looking shrouds and you've got an eye-catcher that lights up the night... In terms of seats I could not recommend Clazzio more, they're superb. In my opinion there is not a whole lot of temp variation, although in the summer black pvc is going to heat up faster (not as much so with decent tint). They look worlds better and do add comfort. I have considered and will eventually switch to the Civic steering wheel (OEM leather and thumbrests), so that's a potential option if you're looking for comfort. Glad you're swaying towards the "keep the fit" stance.
Seems like you and I both had a recent urge to sell our Fit's and came to our senses lol.

Put in a set of nice speakers, then put sound deadening behind them in the mounting space. They did that for me with my speaker upgrade, and it makes a huge difference. The salesman and I compared because we both have the same speakers, but I have the sound deadening added (and his are in a shitbox Dodge 1500). The difference in shear volume, and bass output is night and day.
If you want the car to be more comfortable, consider switching to 15s. More rubber and less metal make for a better ride. And on the subject of comfort, I added 4 sheets of sound deadening in the spare tire well. Made quite a difference in terms of road noise when driving on rough roads.

Happy new year! Started off the year with a nice 3-4 inch hairline crack in the windshield way off to the bottom and the side. Anyone know how to repair these? All the shops are either closed or wont do anything over an inch.
First day of New Year
First day of New Year
So much new inspiration,
So much new idea,
but not enough money,
so I do nothing to my car today...
What can I do,...
Well, I just got to work harder this year
How about you guys?
What did you guys do to your Fit on The First Day of New Year?
Happy New Year every body, May The Force be with You

I have heard Safelight does a good job. Your crack will spider off into a bigger crack before you know it.
But I just realized they may not be in Canada yet. hmmm :/
Happy new year guys (and girls of course)! Adjusted my headlight beams today. Now they should be perfect. Got a new STI lip that should get here this week, along with some bumper quick-releases (I'm hesitant about installing these, not sure how they will look). I'm tempted to get Axis tail lights...
I saw you guys & gals posting your MPG (US) figures, so I decided to check my Fuelly app statistics.
I use them in metrics (european L/100 km), so a quick adjustment in the settings and I got the MPG US figures out.
GP1 (GE8) Jazz / Fit Hybrid:
I drive 95 % in the city. I always have my AC on, auto-climate. The cars is CVT, with paddles. I mainly use the standard D-gear (Auto) and Sport -gear (S) like few times a month, when entering highways or so where you need some extra Go. I also have the gas response or driving mode on ECO.
Summer wheels: Toyo Proxes T1-R, 205/45/17 (OZ Racing, Formula HLT)
Winter wheels: Continental, 175/65/15 (OEM Hybrid alloys, by Enkei) 4 months of the year.
The best I got was during summer time was 45.1 MPG [5.2 L/100km].
The worst now during winter in freezing conditions with studded tires 28.6 MPG 8.2 L/100 km].
Ave MPG last year was 34.1 MPG [6.9 L/MPG] / 5150 Miles [8288 KMs].

I've had my Fit for about 2 1/2 months and so far I have...
- Retrofitted projectors with red LED "Demon Eye" mod and painted the housings and bezels black
- Swapped the OEM speakers with component speakers, powered by a compact 4 channel amp
- Installed a compact subwoofer behind the rear seat
- Did the big 3 wire upgrade
- K&N Drop-In Air Filter
- LED's all around including fog lights
- Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust with resonator delete
- Tint: 35% on doors and rear hatch, 5% on those tiny pointless windows and 50% on windshield
- Also managed to add the coin holder from the GD Fit, had to JB Weld it
Very soon I plan on wiring the Demon Eye as a DRL. It's currently acting as my parking light so it flashes when I lock and unlock the car with the key fob which is cool. And I also plan on wiring the fog lights to they can work independent of the headlights. Other than that, I'll be done with modding. I don't wanna pump too much money into the Fit, but if a set of Axis tail lights go up for sale, then I'm definitely jumping on those.
