You must have a skinny ass if you can actually sit in those seats.... I tried to get into one of those in Fitflowjoe's car and there was no way it was going to happen...Don't start thinking that I'm fat, I weigh the same as I did when I got out of boot camp 42 years ago.

hahaha, well I weigh in at about 68kg and 176cm tall. My hips fit just nicely inside the seat, I'm definitely not moving about when flogging on the car.

Very nice work on the sub install - at least it's different from the usual "mount the sub on the right side" jobs. I suppose you ditched the spare to fit that and the amp?

8" and 10" subs work pretty well for our cars, I've heard...something to do with the interior air not being restricted the way it is with sedans, I reckon.

Actually the JDM model doesn't come with a spare, instead it comes with the puncture kit.

Thanks. Didn't take me too long to fab it all up. Longest time was spent driving around trying to find MDF and waiting for the box carpet to arrive in the mail.

So, how does the car behave with all those bars installed?

Could someone post a list, in order of "biggest effect" to "smallest effect" with regards to chassis stiffening mods on the GE? I want to install some of these, but I don't know where to start. Back in the day, strut tower braces and lower tie bars were about it.

Oh it doesn't? Hmmm. Probably explains why some JDM Fit mufflers won't fit Philippine Jazzes without modification to the floorpan - something to do with the full-size-spare wheel well getting in the way, I heard.

How heavy is the sub and amp? Did you make it as a detachable kind of deal so you could jettison it as ballast on trackdays?

It weighed about 35lbs if I remember correctly. I haven't made it fully detachable without having to undo the power, ground and remote from the amp, but was planning to do so eventually for that very reason.

Not sure about how different the floorpan is, I still have the wheel well, though it doesn't have the attachment point for the bolt that holds the spare in place.

Took another drive over to Mt Fuji. Went a slightly different route which presented me with not as much traffic, allowing me to have some fun with the Fit. I was nowhere near pushing its limits, but I was more than double the posted speed, but even then it's not fast. Welcome to Japan where speed limits are not fast enough to contain Usain Bolt.

Just a pic showing some of the roads taken, came down 71 onto 72, onto 180 and then up 152 to the 5th station. What a damn fun road 152 was. Well the pic doesn't show it, but the caption I put on the pic is also 152.

Small bit in there where something is just not right.

Next time might have 206bootchsmokeit come along to join in the fun with his yellow GE.

Exhaust just arrived about 10 minutes ago. I already removed the stock exhaust as soon as I got home from work so I can just put this bitch on. I took a not so accurate weight of me, me holding both mid-pipe and muffler of the stock, then J's pieces and then by myself once again to make it as accurate as possible. And did it all once again and came up with the same numbers on a normal scale and the J's pieces are 14lbs lighter by this method. Which is a tiny bit more than J's claim of 6kg (13.2lbs).

Enough blabbering, time to install, but here are a couple pictures of the exhaust before installing.

And not that it matters, but the stock set-up...

EDIT: Just measured the stock mid-pipe's ID at both ends. The input from the front pipe(2nd cat) is 45mm ID and the output to the muffler is 41.5mm ID (roughly, as I don't have calipers and using a metal metric L ruler. That is awfully tiny and for me I understand why 50mm probably does give the best all around performance and was the chosen size of the J's exhaust.

So bad ass....

So the internal diameter of the Js exhaust is 50 mm compared to ~42-45 mm stock? So that is roughly 2" diameter for the Js...good to know.

Yeah I know, but like I said, my neighborhood is very quiet and mostly older people right around me, guess the reason it is so quiet. I took it out tonight for about 3 hours, went to find Seeker and then drove into Shibuya and back. It sounds really good inside the cabin, but I'm sure some would call it a drone, to me it is just music. I noticed a slight loss in the low-end till about 2800rpms, not much, but there is some. Top-end there is definitely an improvement.

It is just not quite loud enough for my overall liking. It's pretty deep and sounds nothing like a 1.5liter, I imagine with the replacement of the front pipe in the near future, the audible output will increase yet again. The sound reminds me of my old Snisen, of course it too had a J's exhaust, just wish the Fit would accelerate like it even just a tiny bit.
i WHERE?!?!

B'ND, I didn't measure the piping on the muffler at all, it probably goes back to 45mm, but was surprised it choked down to just under 42mm on the outlet of the mid-pipe. Didn't measure the J's either, so not sure if the piping is 50mm ID or OD, if outside it will be about 48.5mm ID.

P-Fit, that area was really nice, mountains all around at one point, was driving through the middle of them, up and down them. Was a really good drive for the most part, till coming down the Romantic Highway and people were driving like it was a funeral procession through the numerous hairpin switchbacks.

Well, it might be time to install the Denso IK22 plugs. This should recoup the low end TQ you lost as well as further increase the HP up top.

Also, have you installed a CAI? If so, I imagine the increased flow (i.e. Air velocity) into and out of the engine is robbing your low end TQ. You might be able to optimize air flow with a 3 angle valve job and port/polish...it looks like the head may now be limiting factor.

IK22 plugs have been in for a few months now. Have the PRM intake actually. The slight loss isn't horrible, it is kind of like what you see on that Takeda intake dyno graph you posted, it lost low, evened out in the middle and made slight gains up top.
