555sexydrive Work In Progress
Hey Mike. Not much, met with Murakami-San from J's and some others yesterday at a Super Autobacs in Yokohama, ordered the inner side braces, should get here on Wednesday or Thursday and I'll install them on the weekend weather permitting.
Mid-February J's is having an event at Suzuka again, this time on the big course, but just the East section, which consists of the main straight, s curves and back onto main straight.
They just released a front big brake kit that has sparked my interest. Quite expensive though. And before that, still really need to put a diff in. They had just 3 kits and all were sold the first day, just 3 days ago. Murakami-San said next batch won't be available for another 2 months.

Put a link to some in-car video from Dec 1st over at Suzuka Southern in first post and will include here as well. Maybe a bit monotonous, but it is what it is. Eventually will edit part 2 to include slight camera angles.
This video was all from the first run of the day and not all laps included as it would of been too long, already is 16min in length.

Awesome vid! Would you say that you need better dampening for getting some of that power down? Our little lightweight cars skip all over the place.
I will say, your car is certainly faster with those mods. I can tell there is power up top where the stock car dies off.

Hayden, the sussy isn't the problem really, the car felt awesome with the new suspension, it really comes down to the open differential and not being able to really power out of the turns. I have some other financial commitments to tend to, but I will eventually put in a diff and a better final drive. And I agree with you about the power output, it's still tiny, but definitely improved over stock.
Domo domo JCrim, sorry I can't really do anything about the non-flaccid state you were in, you can return the favor with some vid of the KGD.
MNfit thank you, much appreciated.

Some more front end stability, I do notice already driving over bumps in the road less noise. SPEC finally has clutches for the GE listed on their website and speaking with David over email and most likely going to pick up their stage 5 unsprung hub, get the MFactory 4.6 final and a Cusco RS diff and do it all at once. Doubtful I can have it done before the next event on the 15th of February though.
I like every damned thing you have done and are doing... I have been thinking bout doing the same as what you have just done and are going to.... Eliminating wheel spin with larger tires has made my clutch start slipping.
I'm not sure if they are specific to the JDM front end or not. It's possible that there are some slight differences in the placement of the bolts on the USDM spec. Though the fender bolt locations are the same between the 2. Just not sure about those 2 upper holes towards the front end of the car. The door hinge bolts should be the same.
Well T_C, you are making much more power over stock.
I've heard some good things about these SPEC clutches so I'm going to give them a try. And want the unsprung for a tiny bit less weight.
