Yah, I tried to rep you earlier 555, but it said I had to spread it around, so I did, but still can't rep you again.
Your knowledge is, and of course the pics of your parts/build are greatly appreciated!!!

I sure hope you get to stay in Japan for as long as you like. I'd like to visit one day, it's one of my dream destinations. You have impeccable taste, and a love for the car and driving. It's palpable and I really enjoy your car and your postings. Thank you for spreading your fit-ness! I can only wish to have the $ and taste enough someday to build a car up to your fit's caliber.

1 way differential. Contacted Cusco and waiting for a reply about the differences between the LSD386F and LSD386C. The F model is only 1 way and the C model is 1 or 1.5 way. Price wise they are the same.
The good news about the diff though, the same model number is shared between the GD and GE. I contacted Quaife previously about their diff, but they were not sure if it would fit the GE and they sent me diagrams to research if I wanted. So for those of you who are looking for a helical type that doesn't need to ever be rebuilt, but doesn't have as much lock as a gear type, you can go with MFactory's helical as I believe they are using Quaife as a supplier (don't quote me on that).
I'm definitely excited at how much quicker the car is going to rev with the 4.687 versus the stock 4.294, the US GE already has a 4.62 final so not really necessary to swap. Still wondering if I should drop in the CR-Z first 3.142 versus the 3.461 stocker (USDM first is a 3.308) for less of an RPM drop on the 1-2 shift (nearly 500rpm difference).

Yup I noticed about the on H-fit's website ago when I was browsing around. However, seems like LSD/final drive etc isn't gaining a whole lot of attention in the fit community so I guess u might be the first one confirming IF the GD unit actually fits on a GE. I was lucky enough that Ben @ A&J racing lend me his old GD3's stock open diff to compare the measurement with the info that Quaife emailed me. Ended up I ordered my Quaife ATB from a dealer in England. I kinda regret though coz I think the Mfactory helical that my brother installed for "Kspec" grips better than my Quaife. So hopefully your LSD will fit, I'm quite positive that it will
Regarding to the 1st gear. Yeah I don't see why not if you can find a stock CR-z first gear at a decent price. Coz u might feel that there's a "rush" in 1st gear that it'll possibly top out pretty quick after u got the Mfactory 4.628. Well at least that's what I don't like. 2nd gear is torquey enough to get the car rolling in most cases.
Btw, when my bro installed the LSD & final drive for me we found out that the VSS gears are made by plastic, which sits right around your diff(check the link in my signature). I'm not sure if that's the same case in your GE8. Get the shims, diff carrier bearings & the VSS gear prepared IF you can. Slap the bearings & VSS on to the cusco unit & off you go. Save yourself sometime on there!

Still waiting for the clutch and final drive to show up. I ended up going with SPEC's stage 4 instead of 5, David of SPEC said it was more geared for road racing and the 5 was more geared for drag. Supposedly the clutch has shipped and the final was supposed to ship Monday as it was Chinese New Year's and MFactory's main operation was closed for it. I really don't have time to install everything with work and not being able to take off, so I am just going to have Ryo and his mechanic up at Seeker do the install for me. Went up on Saturday and inquired about it. So I will have approximately 1 week to put some decent amount of km on to the clutch and diff before the event on the 15th. It's about 225 miles over to Suzuka, so that will aid in putting some of the miles in. Want to have about 500. Should be doable.

Alright, part 2 of 3 has arrived this afternoon.
Yummy solid hub, 4 puck action.
Come on MFactory don't let me down, better be here tomorrow or Saturday or I am going to have to forego install before the event.

That is a nice clutch though. Can't wait to hear how the whole setup works out.
#375
Nice...are you doing the install yourself? Lots of room in the Fit bay to pull the engine tranny from above. I put the LSD in my k20a2 tranny but I had the benefit of a step by step how-to from Hybrid Racing. Oh, and the tranny was already out of the car...

No time Makita. Work is busy as can be and I want this done before the event on the 15th of this month, so still need to break everything in before ripping on it. So just having Ryo and his mechanic up at Seeker install. It sucks really because the $ sucks so it is adding in extra money that doesn't really need to be spent, but unfortunately work has somewhat of a priority over free time. Come on PowerBall and end that for me one day. hahaha

I definitely understand that...glad to hear work is keeping you busy.
You have definitely developed the GE chassis more than anyone outside of Spoon or Js Racing. I finally had to throw in the towel. My Grandmother all but forced me to get a new car...a 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. She never liked the Fit and gave some generous help with a down payment.
So the Fit has to go...I will definitely miss this tossable little car.
But, I'm keeping the k24 civic project car.

It's all good about moving away from the Fit. You can always say you did. There are many guys who won't drive one because they have no testes and/or backbone and can not take the backlash from others. :P
Enjoy the Mustang, like I even need to say that. And definitely keep that 'Vic project going, want to see the end result.
