Filled up this morn. OBC was at 41.7 mpg and odometer at 260.5 miles. 6.54 gallons went in the tank for an actual calculation of 39.83. So the OBC was about 5% generous on this tank. I'd be pretty happy with 40. BUT, if you then take into consideration the generous speedometer, I think its closer to 38mpg real-world. Still, though, better than I expected. Based on how I fare with other vehicles and the Fit's EPA ratings, I would have expected 35mpg on average.

This is pretty close to consistently what I get as well, about 2 MPG less in reality than the OBC figures.

I sometimes get swings where it actually shows better for one tank and then the very next tank is worse than the usual 2 MPG difference. What I've learned from analyzing a couple of these is that stopping at the first click (as I always do) isn't a reliable way of getting the gas to the same point in the tank every time.

One of these "stop at first click" occasions was a fill-up when I had only 12 miles left on the range yet it clicked at 7.1 gallons. I didn't even think anything of it until I was driving off, and I thought to myself that 7.1 gallons is awfully light for a tank that was so low. Usually I get over 8 gallons into it even with more left on the range. And that was for a tank where the OBC was showing 40 MPG, meaning it wasn't because I had gotten abysmal mileage. So that fill-up calculated out to be 43.5 MPG. The very next one did fill up over 8 gallons, showed 39 MPG on the OBC, and calculated out to 34 MPG. Now I don't trust the "click" if the gallons don't line up with how much gas I had left before filling. I don't know of a reliable way of ending up at the same point from tank to tank, but at least I feel good that a several tank average is going to probably be pretty accurate.

Averaged 34.1 MPG over 586 mile trip

I just went on a 300 mile each way road trip this past weekend in my 2015 Honda FIT EX w/CVT. This was in Texas so the AC was on (Fan Speed 1-2) and ECON was enabled. Also cruise was enabled when it could be and 65% of the time the speed was at 75 MPH, 25% at 65 MPH, 5% at 60 MPH the rest was stop and go city driving.

My results are:

#1 leg: 272 miles, 2 bars on fuel gauge, 8.262 gallons, 32.9 MPG
#2 leg: 314 miles, 1 bar on fuel gauge (5 miles on range), 8.902 gallons, 35.3 MPG

EDIT: Note that this trip had many hills to and from southwest Texas and I even got so close to some of the Wind Turbines (right next to the highway) that were part of what looked like hundreds in a wind farm. They are pretty spectacular to see up close.

Road trip miles

Road trip from Austin to Fort Worth to Nocona, TX. 39.9 mpg on trip computer; 39 on actual calculation with gallons pumped. On way up AC on at level 2. Econ mode. Mostly 65 mph with stop and go road construction and some city driving.

Way back mostly back highways, average speed 70 mph with 49 mph when passing through towns. 314 miles, with two bars left. AC on, Econ mode 40.8 mpg both in trip computer and with actual gallons pumped. I'm very pleased.

So about $47 gas round trip to Nirth Texas. One tank up, one tank back.

My 2015 Fit EX w/CVT seems to like (more fuel efficient) 65 mph much more than 75 mph.

46.0 on first recorded tank, 40.7 on second.

MPG guage seems to read about 2 mpg high, also.

3 mpg high on mine in town. Closer on long highway trips. I asked the dealer about it. Told him my Pontiac was absolutely accurate. He said: "Well, this isn't a Pontiac". I know. It is supposed to be better than a Pontiac. What a dingus.

The trip computer said 39.8 on my last tank. I got 41.5.

A small percentage of inaccuracy in the mpg calculation looks huge if you're getting high mpg, but the same small inaccuracy doesn't even get noticed at lower mpgs. I'm okay with the car and the UltraGauge being a bit off and not being in complete agreement with each other. I just went outside and checked my car: I've got 460.2 miles on this tank. The car says I'm at 47.3 mpg and the UltraGauge says I'm at 45.7, disagreeing by 3.5%- in a 20 mpg car that would make less than 1 mpg difference.

I'm nowhere near the edge of the mileage this car can get, but I am way past what is reasonable for a car that's rated 29 combined. I calibrate the UltraGauge every few fills, but you know what? It needs adjusting every time. That's life when you're dealing with thousandths of gallons over hundreds of miles. When I check my numbers at the pump this evening I'll probably find that the pump's numbers are really close to the two gauges, most likely right in between them. Who cares? The pump isn't God either, it's just another machine that does the best it can and throws another set of variables into the mix.

Fit EX CVT with 16" tires, first tank came in at 41.9 mpg, running mostly at 45-55 mph, a few short runs with AC. My 2010 averaged 36 mpg at the same speeds.

I drove till the warning light came on, at two bars showing. It indicated I could go another 37 miles. It took 7.9g to fill the tank. That's with continuing to fill after the pump clicked off - one more click. 43.5 MPG

Did my first fill-up on the way home from work today. Dealer supposedly delivered it with a full tank at 6.0 miles (first fill-up on Fuelly, gauge read full and dealer didn't reset trip meters). Today, the low level light came on after the fuel gauge had been on two segments for a few miles--right when it switched to 30 miles left on Range. Filled up two miles later at 28 on range, and 280.3 on the odometer and trip meters, with right at 9.0 gallons at $1.949/gallon (gotta love fuel points). Still on two segments on the gauge.

That's 30.5 mpg where the MPG gauge had been reading 34.1. If it had been getting that, it should've taken only 8.0 gallons. This was all city/suburb, with ECO off and AC on the whole time, tires at 33 psi. I'm betting the dealer wasn't so generous filling it. Second tank will be more telling.

[QUOTE=tmfit;1242995]Now that some of us are lucky enough to have gotten our Fit's, it would be a great opportunity to compare and inform others what we are getting in MPG.

We bought our 2015 Fit EX at Couer D'alene Honda (in Idaho) on September 28. We live 40 miles away on Interstate 90 west of Spokane. I reset the odometer when we left the dealer and kept it at 65-70 mph on I90 to my home. We got 48.1 mpg driving conservatively at that speed.
