What did you do to your GK Fit today?

205/50/16 general altimax rt43 installed. Firestone screwed up my alignment though. Didn't realize it until a few miles down the road and I had picked up right at closing. The steering wheel was cockeyed and it's pulling to the right. So have to drop it off again. Pissed cause I have to repair my broken fence that a storm knocked down yesterday and I really don't have time for this BS.
Also set all 4 tires to 33 psi.

Sub Woofer Re-install
I decided to relocate the sub from under the passengers seat to the trunk. I did it for 3 reasons:
1. Could not access the controls. I'm a musician. I'm ALWAYS tweaking music I listen to (if I can).
2. Under the seat there is no room for a line out converter or RCA connectors which means you have to use the hi-level speaker inputs on the amp. Although this may sound ok, the line level RCA inputs sound SO MUCH BETTER.
3. A sub needs to "breathe". Placed under the seat, the sound is going directly to the bottom of the seat. While in the trunk, the space acts as virtual speaker box and reinforces the bass frequencies. The speaker can "breathe".
Install was relatively easy. Factory system sounds much better with some REAL bass.

I bought it used from Stembridge on here for $290+ plus shipping, not hard, 6 screws and 6 push fasteners, plus you have to remove the rear USDM crash bar. Took longer to clay and wax it than it did to pull the "old" cover off and put the "new" cover on.

I too have noticed that the bass if left under the seats completely will make them sound weaker than they are. They still punch under your seat but are driving real hard to do so, not very efficient. I rarely have anyone in my back seat (except for my little wing man nephew who is in a car seat) so I located my dual subs to to be just outside the rear seats, velcro'd to the all season mats, easy to remove, easy to vacuum around. if needed people can still put their feet in the back with some room...long as they don't hit my subs!
LOTS OF BASS!

I took my RS badges off yesterday and decided I wanted to paint them to match the car. Sprayed the backs with Goof-Off and let them soak for about 30 minutes to get the chrome of the border lining. Wet sanded with extra fine until the black and red came off. Filled in the borders with with Honda Frost White touch up paint and wet sanded with extra fine again. Will be finishing them up sometime today.

Yes, the highs and mids are much better. I have an EX with the stock system. Saw the speakers, adapters and wire harness on Crutchfield's site...all three items were cheaper on Amazon. Might do the fronts this summer....
