Quality Issues with new Fit
Tail light leak
I washed my 2015 EX after about 1 1/2 weeks of ownership. Took it to the carwash and washed like I washed every other car I've owned. Later in the day I noticed water condensation in the tail lights. Took it to the nearest and really helpful and efficient Union Park Honda in Delaware and they told me they contacted honda and who said they have had no complaints about leaking tail lights. Honda asked them to wait on repair until the weather is warmer and condensation can again occur. If it does they will replace with standard gaskets. If I want them to now they will replace but I will do as Honda asked. Has anyone else had leaking taillights? Mine was manufactured November 2014.

The left tail light on my LX had filled with condensation a few weeks ago. Carson Honda offered to replace it without question, and then accidently replaced the wrong tail light. They did eventually order the correct part, and so now I have two new tail lights!
It's been a common subject on here about both the headlights and tail lights getting condensation, so you're not alone and your case isn't isolated. I think most people have been able to get the parts replaced.
There's also been a few cases I've seen of owners being told that the condensation is normal. I'm not quite buying that, as I've never come across this issue on any new car, and just imagine how much water will build-up in those lenses over the years! I hope they replace the parts for you too

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle! It sure does say that light condensation within the lens is normal. Go figure? I just noticed some condensation in both headlights after last night's rains in Southern California.
Myself, and possibly others on here, are in the same boat. I've owned 11 cars throughout the years (including some beat up old bombs) and have never had this problem. Why is this is a design quirk of the Fit when the manufacturers of all these others cars have figured out how to keep moisture out?
It can't be a good thing when moisture is sealed within a part that has electrical components. Turning on the lights to burn off the moisture seems like a [bad] short-term solution
Yes for headlights they say it's normal but taillights are not normal and should be checked out. Tail lights should not have condensation on them. I'll find another thread with a person posting about having tail light condensation later.
So I've got a new issue besides the discolored plastic on the back, warped weatherstripping, leaking misaligned doors, constant tpms light, and whatever else I missed, the car now makes a loud hollow whumping noise from the front right when going over any bump. If you've ever has a loose bolt in your suspension, maybe a loose strut bolt, it sounds similar. The car also makes a popping noise when turning. I was investigating and all the underbody panels are just fine. When I grab the actual front wheel though I can wiggle it around with my hands with about a half centimeter of play.
Definitely something wrong with the front suspension. I checked the wheel nuts and they were fine. And the sound is getting worse, afraid to drive it now. Wouldn't want a catastrophic failure of a LCA bolt or something on the freeway.
So back to Honda it goes.
15k miles now FYI. 98% freeway driven. No massive potholes, bumps, hit nothing, no abuse.
I hate this car.

Must have been a tequila Friday on your build day.
I too would be upset, but hopefully you can get things squared away and let us know what they find.
Thanks GoBucky. LA traffic is the devil! That last trip to the dealer, I averaged about 8mph on the freeway. But it was 88 degrees yesterday, so that's the trade-off
I hope this will be the last of the glitches. To set the record, I really like the car for what it is (I wouldn't have bought it otherwise). I'd avoided buying from a Japanese brand for years, and decided to take the plunge based on the consistent quality reviews. Truly ironic, lol

Since you're from socal, I've been to dealerships in San Diego, Irvine, northridge, tustin, puente hills, Anaheim. If you think 20 miles is bad try 160 one way. Multiple times.
Ya I feel like LA dealerships and any dealership I've been to here in socal has been horrible. Not used to this lack of service and nonchalant "lol... This guy... He's complaining about quality issues on his fit???? This is a Japanese Honda! There's no such thing!". And that's the vibe I get from the dealers.

You may want to give Carson Honda a try. That's where I bought my Fit and have been taking it to for the numerous times it's had quality defects. They are fantastic there and have been more than helpful. In fact, for the trouble that I've gone through with this car, my next two oil changes are free there.
Jonathan in the service drive is particularly awesome. His wife recently bought a new Fit and it's been plagued with a number of problems too, so he completely understands the issues and won't deny them.
I encountered the same silliness as you from other dealers in LA that it's a Honda and these things can't possibly happen. The folks at Carson Honda have been more than accommodating and each time that I've brought it in, there's been no hassle with repairing (or attempting to repair) the issues.
Thanks for this advice. If I ever need service, I'll consider it. I live in the San Diego area.

I finally got a Honda dealership to say "your door does look like its misaligned"!
I also got them to say "your weatherstripping isnt supposed to look like that"
as well as "that noise from your front suspension isn't normal"
I NEED TO BUY A LOTTERY TICKET
On the flip side, I did have them say "it almost looks like your Fit was in an accident"
Yay my new car looks like it was in an accident. I've never had anyone say that about the dozens of used cars I've owned.
They've had the car for three days now, and supposed to have replaced the weatherstripping and realigned my doors, and ordered and replaced my front right strut.
This time, I was given a new Honda Accord to drive around, from the dealership (not Enterprise). Pleasantly surprised about that.
Will update later once I get the car back... the forever-TPMS-light, discoloration on the back, steering wheel gap, and paint issues can wait for another day...

If they're trying to shift blame to you, shift it right back!

I think a bolt fell off a plane leaving or entering Peachtree Dekalb Airport, and I caught it!
Yep. I ordered some honda paint online and watched some tutorials on getting rid of chips from legit experts not some dude in his front yard. I'm going to try and do it on my wifes car first. lol
Quality Issues with new Fit
First- sorry to hear and see this.
Where is the paint chip- Secondly- you must live a DANGEROUS life- trying the Honda paint chip stuff on the BOSS'es car first- there might be a body
depression on your HOOD next- if the paint chip thing- didn't look good on
her car- lol!
I challenge you to find a car that has been made for years without a defect. Regardless of whether or not it is a re-design, each year they made a minute change there has to be a manufacturing change made and there enters the opportunity for a mistake. This isn't a brand new car it is a re-designed car. If you fear mistakes by the manufacturer, you will NEVER buy a new car. Rolls are even at risk, ESPECIALLY when a car is built by hand and not controlled equipment. We all are at risk of a Friday or Monday car.
The majority of issues posted here are minimal, some just personal preference. A lot are complaining about the armrest, I find it the perfect height for my pleasure. We aren't talking engines locking up, brakes failing, steering breaking, cars driving on their own, gas tanks exploding, people are talking a scratch, a mis match of fenders which is a simple bolt adjustment. Come'on name a real issue
