NIGHTHAWKSI's custom turbo build progress thread
installed my exhaust yesterday...the fujitsubo power getter. not my first choice of exhausts, but im happy with it, especially for the amazing price of $200 for a full catback. considering i have the test pipe, i was expecting a raspy tone...suprisingly there is no "ricyness" to it. its louder..much louder between 2-3k rpms on side streets, but its a nice deep tone. there is no drone on the highway and i cant even tell its there when just maintaining speed. although im hoping the turbo will quiet it down a little.
ill take a few quick pics today of how it looks on the car.

ive got the p0405 CEl on my dash. its for EGR sensor circiut low.
current mods are emanage ultimate wired in for injectors/ignition/MAP sensor- test pipe/cat-back exhaust. larger injectors have also been installed and compensated for in the emanage settings.
any idea how to fix this?

sounds like a O2 problem. when the car operates the egr it looks for a calculated change in the O2. now that your exhaust flows better this may be the problem. thats where i'd start.
im assuming it has to do with the second o2 sensor since i havent touched the first one. now...is it seeing too much or too little flow?
however i would think that a different code will be thrown if i change anything with the sensor.
sounds like a good start. i did throw the CEL the day i installed the cat-back. thought it was maybe just becuase i didnt reset the ECU after the installation. reset it, CEL came back 2 days later.

lol. what?
the car still runs fine. its just annoying to have a CEL for a stupid reason. EGR is just a emessions control device...if i could pass inspection with the code i wouldnt care.

also the O2's don't monitor flow. they read the oxygen content in the exhaust stream. the rear O2 should read more oxygen than the front since the catalyst converts the hydrocarbons and what not back to oxygen, h2O, ect.... spark plug foulers from your local vato zone may fix the issue if it's a O2 issue causing the cel. if there was a honda tech there should be a fault tracing diagram that will list possible causes or at least how the system works/monitors. that would be the most helpful.
I could be wrong but I don't think there is a single turbo fit that doesn't have a check engine light, something you may want to consider if your worried about passing emissions.

i know the o2's dont monitor flow, but if the sensor is out of the direct exhaust flow, it shouldnt be casuing a CEL (unless its getting to little reading). the test pipe i have has a built in defouler (a-spec).
i unplugged the egr sensor harness, checked wiring and reconnected it last night. i did not reset the battery...if the ECU sees the egr is working correctly, it should turn the CEL off on its own. ill give it a few days then reset the ecu if it doesnt go away and try from there. the car was reading a more stable a/f this morning..so im thinking it was a loose harness.
i FINALLY got around to finish designing and tack welding my manifold. it is all ready to be finish welded...should be done today or tomorow. i will post pics once i get it back and i clean it up.
i changed the design to a bottom mount due to room constraints. damn internal wastegate takes up alot of room.
turbo is definatly being installed this weekend

my manifold is mostly welded up. there was very little warping (the middle runners are about 1/16th short of tuching the clange...so im happy about that. a little bigger of a weld shoudl take care of it. dont mind the messy welds...i dont care. they will do the job and its the first manifold me or my father have ever made.
the head flange is getting welded on saturday.
pictures on the first post.
