a CEL from a cat delete is VERY common. if you havent done anything to your car recently except for the cat delete, and then got a CEl. its most likely teh cause. nothing major to worry about. but im just suprised that the code is thrown with the o2 sensor "fix".

cars also all act differently to no cat. when i hade the DC header on the SI, i didnt have a CEL. sold it to kenny, he got a CEL a week later...it comes and goes.

my only concern is that i added a gaske to my test pipe yesterday (it didnt have one and was leaking) and also tapped the vacuum line for my boost gauge (boost gauge was already installed, just the line wasnt connected). if i hadnt touched the vacuum line i would just reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative terminal....but since i messed with the vacuum, i wan to make sure what it is before i go any further.

alos, my oil life is down to 0%. i was hoping to ride this oil out until i install the turbo, but it looks ike i wont be able to. within the next week i will be drilling and tapping the oil pan and installing a plug temporarily. this way i dont have to waste all the oil a month form now when i install the turbo.

if anyone has any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. i was planning to try and drill ant tap the oil pan while its still on the car, then drain the oil with any shavings in it. the filter would catch anything that might be left.
however, im not sure if there is enough room for a drill to get to the oil pan, or if anyone would highly advise against doing it this way. i know its not the best, but it saves ALOT of trouble from dropping the pan.
the pan doesn't look hard to remove honestly. but if you must cut corners make sure you load the flutes of the drill bit with wheel bearing grease to catch a majority of the shavings.

yea i know! i couldnt beleive it when i won the auction. i havent tested it or anything, and without knowing much about turbos, i dont really know what can go wrong. all i know is it has no in/out shaft play and VERY minimal side shaftplay. a few friends of mine that know more about turbos said the shaft play is acceptable and as long as the fins arent touching anything it should be good.

a little trick that your welder will love you for is rather than using duck tape use hvac duct tape. looks like aluminum foil and leaves virtually no residue and is strong as hell. also put a sharpie mark accross both pipe and mark the pipes a and a then another pipe b and b or numerically in case he accidently mixes them up.

sarcasm?

ill admit to using a few parts off ebay such as
BOV, IC piping and Intercooler.
an ebay turbo..no way! thats a hit or miss item...mostly miss. price for a new turbo...$400+ (i got VERY lucky and found one for cheap). or you could go and get the REAL version of that turbo... for $1150
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

i am expecting to have to replace my BOV in the near future. $200

there is no manifold in that kit. manifold will be expensive to have made unless you can DIY. axpect another $400+

there is no oil return included. $60

and another point to justify how horribly a ebay kit is, that turbo requires an external wastegate. none is included with the auction. $200

so add at least another $1200 to that auction and you have a complete kit that requires alot of welding and fabrication that will cost $1000 unless you DIY.

im waiting on manifold parts, 2" IC piping and the emanage ignition harness.
once i get the emanage harness, i will install that and the injectors.

i will be building the manifold/DP in spair time after work.

and within a week i will design the rest of my IC piping. bring it to be welded and then everything is pretty much done.

when it comes time to install everyhting, it will be as simple as bolting on the IC, peicing together the piping, and bolting on the turbo. besides that its 1 fitting for the oil feed and a few hose clamps for the oil return and coolant.

then TUNING
gonna try it myself.

my friend welds so that wouldnt be a problem and it wasnt sarcasm, he was just saying for the money. but yes they are too good to be true.

it says after 20K miles the turbo will need to be rebuilt.

how did you get a manifold? DIY?
