i changed my injectors last friday. i followed the intake manifold gasket DIY. besides that, it is just 2 nuts on top of the fuel rain that hold it in place, as well as a bolt to the right of the valve cover (near the throttle body)
after everthing i removed, each injector has a clip that comes off easily and a plug. very self explanitory when its infront of you.

and a tip,........ keep a few rags next to you so that then you unclip the injectors you can soak up the fuel that sprays out.

I am getting alot of detonation though. i guess i never had the rotary switches correct when i installed the emanage. i am throwing a MAP cuicuit high code which is not allowing the ECU to adjust the timing correctly.
if anyone knows what the correct emanage blue rotary settings are supposed to be or can look for me, i would VERY much appreciate it.

i got my intercooler piping welded up yesterday. i have some pic i will post on the first page.

i would like to thank Ben at AJ racing for taking teh time to PM me and help with my emanage problem. i am however still getting detonation. im hoping its just bad spark plugs at this point, but if anyone has any suggestions for emanage blue setup, please let me know.
i currently have it as:
jumper 1 - 1-2
jumper 2 - 1-2
jumper 3 - 2-3 (vtec setting...car was running with a big fluxuation in a/f ratio without vtec setting)
jumper 4- 1-2 (vtec setting...emanage was throwing a code saying i had the wrong setting if vtec jumper was not set.)
jumper 5 - open
jumper 6 - open
jumper 7 - open

rotary switches : 2-8-A

the car is running much better, but i am still getting audible detonation. HELP!!!

i checked spark plugs and they looked fine. still getting detoantion. i will be starting to use 93 octane fuel as soon as this tank runs out. next will be 1 step colder spark plugs.if neither of these help, i will be babying the car until i am done with the turbo install and let the tuner deal with it.

yea..its starting to make me nervous. i might just change the numbers for the injectors so they dump in more fuel then they are suppsoed to. hopefull it temporarily fixes the problem.

yo Ian when i went to Wired in NJ today, they told me that the E manage ultimate is the better one for your custom turbo compare to the blue one... something about the Blue one is not really tunable... then i got confuse after that

its not the tuning part im having trouble with...technically i would still call this the installation. i am (was) trying to get it to run correctly. ALL the maps are zeroed out. the only thing the emanage was doing was adjusting for injector size.

yea,yea,yea lol

well i already went ahead and ordered the ultimate. it should be here next week along with the supplemental harness...i needed to buy the damn supplemental harness for $45 and all i needed was the plug and 4 of the wires!!!!. i have the T1r turbo base map (which i think also includes all setup perameters in it) so all i should have to do is set the jumpers and ill have a base tune that will somewhat work.

my wallet hates me right now..this was an expensive "suprise" peice of the turbo kit. although ben at ajracing got me a great price.

unfortunatly a expensive lesson learned that could have been avoided. I always reccomend not skimping in the management/fuel department. a majority of setups i've built in the past had more money in the fuel management and fuel componets than the turbo hardware alone.

you should be going in the right direction here pretty soon. good luck and keep us updated.

you should pick up a set of colder plugs too. I use IX plugs #7 and they have worked well.

They have them at sparkplugs.com for like $10 each.

i think i am going to go without iridium plugs. i heard that regular plugs will make teh car run smoother...just requires changing them sooner. luckily the fits plugs are easy to change.

i made it from a glowshift dual gauge pod. i cut the bottom at an angle so it faces up more, glued it onto plexiglass, cut the middle of the plexiglass out so i have access to the back of the gauges, molded the bottom onto the plexiglass with body filler, anded, primed, and painted.

and i only spent $150 on the blue (which i hopefully resell)....so it wasnt that expensive but a pita

F*CK emanage blue.

wired up the ignition wires tonight. started the car...ran fine. went to the store, came home, parked in the garage. cleaned up and put the glove box back in. started teh car...BAM! loudest ****ing bang ever. hurt my ears and the neighbors came to teh side door to ask if i was alright.

car now starts and idles VERY rough. pullled the plugs, look fine. pulled the coils and they still work. pulled the coils of each spark plug one by one....cylinder 1 makes no difference in how the car idles. swapped the coil with a different plug...cylinder 1 still makes no difference.

pretty much determined that cylinder 1 is not working anymore. will do a compression test tomorow. im pretty much prepared for the worse

from the loudness of the bang...its probably a hole though the cylinder.

wow thats not good. i doubt that it really did anything to your engine just maybe something electronically. when you check compression, just check for consistency among all the cylinders, it should be around high 100's psi
