Installation was quite easy!

1- Slide the seats forward.
2- Position the armrest and mark where to drill.
3- Remove armrest and drill the four holes in the console.
4- Replace the armrest and attach with the four screws.
5- Cover screws with supplied trim.

Total project time, less than it took me to take this picture and post it.

You can see the placement of the screws by the two trim caps.

MC, instructions and a pic too This looks like the best aftermarket product I've seen so far. I think I'll still hold off and see if the JDM part eventually comes down in price, though.

Latest info, just got an email from colleghillshonda today as follows:

I just wanted to send a note to each of the pre-order customers to provide an update on the armrest situation. Our shipment has arrived in Cleveland but nearly 3 weeks late. The parts have been sitting in Cleveland for over a week now because of a situation with UPS Supply Solutions. Without getting into details all the paperwork that is required to release our shipment has been produced but this particular branch of UPS is less than helpful. We are currently in talks with UPS headquarters to hopefully get the issue with their Cleveland employees resolved and to get our shipment to our doorstep as soon as possible. If all goes well we should have these items soon and avoid getting lawyers involved. Thank you for being patient in this matter.

Looking for a super center arm rest? I found one!

I ordered an arm rest from qualityautointerions.com for $109.00. An easy install and has a small storage compartment. Check it out!!

I found one on a website but it replaces the whole console and is far forward but has two rear cup holders. Looks functional but $$$

This is the same product being sold by Maxdax in Singapore, and by Zeta Products, a fitfreak vendor. Made in China. I bought mine from Zeta and the quality is acceptable. Large storage capacity, good looks. Unfortunately, not adjustable, and does not fold out of the way.

Something that caught my eye under the maintenance section of the webpage. Headlight assemblies for $189.15 each?

Wow... a bit of arguing over an armrest

To the guys with just the arm rest. Congrats! you have a nice arm rest that suits your tastes and needs.

To the ones with the full replacement... Read from Congrats! on.

Myself... I'm going to buy the full replacement... why? As much as I like modifying cars... keeping them as close to original is also fun. Besides, I will have people in the back of my car and having 4 cup holders in the back is better than 3..

Well said, Got mine in today and installed it. It's GREAT!!! I agree on the full replacement, plus it feels like it was meant to be there from the factory which is also great.

armrest / console

Well, I'm still happy with my maxdax low cost arm rest, and it took all of 2 1/2 minutes to install it with the 4 self-tapping screws supplied. Now I have a handy place for my favorite CDS, and my mp3 player, and a spot where my elbow can rest!

Thanks to this forum, and the folks who ordered and recommended it before I ordered one.

It's not a super high end fancy add-on, but looks good, and works fine, so for the heavy customizers, perhaps they might prefer spending more, and going with a different console. But, for the average person, this is an affordable, and highly useable / functional item that sells for a great price.

My photos can be seen at this link:

Later,
Bill

Are these available from somewhere else?

Does anyone know if these are being sold anywhere else? I just got my fit and am missing the armrest too. I'd rather spend the $300 and get the replacement OEM. anyone know of a place to order these?

Um, hate to burst your bubble... but the armrests (either version) are NOT USDM OEM. The one that you attached via screws to the OEM currently in your car is an add-on. The one that replaces the entire center console is OEM from either Europe or Japan. HTH

Cool, Yes, I understand, I'm looking for the import "OEM", the one that replaces the entire center console. In my mind, if it's made by Honda then it's "OEM".

I found an email to the sales department from the link on the first post, so hopefully this month (when their contact is back from "vacation") they can negotiate for more. Cross those fingers!
