I am thinking the same way. I will be looking for stainless steel screen material. I know that there are sources for any size mesh s.s. screen on-line, but I will look for it at Ace Hardware and Home Depot before buying on-line. I am guessing that a 1/4" mesh size would be sufficient to keep damaging rocks away from the condenser. The condenser isn't very big- a 12" X 24" piece should be big enough.

Zip-ties would hold it in place.

Power door lock squealing

Car: 07 Honda Fit Sport

Problem: Passenger side door locks would "squeal" when locked. At first it would do it only occasionally, then it was doing it nearly every time I locked the car. I had them inspect the locks during my 10,000 mile (B1) service.

Repair: Honda has ordered me a new lock actuator and will let me know when the part comes in. Covered under warranty. They had heard of this problem before, so I'm probably not the only one.

i have windows with a mind of thier own, sometimes they all go auto down when i just open each one a little from the drivers control, and then the passenger window wont go back up until i flick the switch back and forth a few times, and now when i have the a/c on my belt or a/c pulley or tensioner is causing a high pitched belt chirp in between shifts from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd, or when i just rev and let off in neutral, any body else have these problems?

Squeeling

My steering wheel squeels a bit when turning at low speeds, it sounds like its coming from inside the steering column, do you think it could be covered under warranty. I only have 20k miles

I'm just waiting to get my Fit back from the dealer on it first warranty work.
The trim around the windshield started separating from the channel. About 15" came unglued above the passenger side. I also noticed a whistle at 60 km/hr. So I asked them to check the windshield seal.

I had my first warranty work done this past Friday on my 08 Fit Sport (AT). Just under 10k miles. A check engine light kept going on and off and I knew it wasn't the gas cap. They determined it was a rocker? Can't remember exactly. It feeds oil to the VTEC during high RPMs and had to be replaced. I'll try and remember to grab the sheet from my car later and post the error code etc. My gas mileage has gone up since the fix.

Hi,Thread
After reading your problem with the windows,I decided to respond and say that my Fit's rear windows don't open all the way down. They get open about 4 or 5 inches. (both same). It is normal,or I have another crazy windows ?? Luis

Yeah, it shows at the bottom of the sheet:

9635 P2647 Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch circuit high voltage
123505 1101L0 03214 T090 Replaced arm oil pressure switch ran v-tech function test, system normal now.

As for how it affects the car, it definitely feels more responsive on the highway. I typically don't push the car a lot. (When the light first came on, I was trying to not get killed by a semi.) I also noticed an increase in the MPG on the two fillups after the fix. However, I think I would need to see if this was due to my long trips or something that will sustain itself over the long haul. I have gotten some varied gas mileage but lower than I had expected with this car. I keep track of mileage at every single fillup, both trip and overall mileage.

I just had a repair on my 07' purchased in July of 06'. My power steering "computer box" thing (I know it's not the right term) went out and had to be replaced! I was at 41k miles so they said it was not under warranty, but replaced it anyway under a good faith warranty with me paying only 10% of it's cost. It was a $700.00 repair and I had to wait 5 days to fly the part in from California but to only pay $70.00 was a blessing. They said they had never seen that before in Dayton, Ohio. She's running perfect again now!

Angry Blown Fuse

I have a 2007 Honda Fit sport with just 22K miles that I bought new in 2006. Not too long after I had it, I had a blown fuse. This fuse controls the tail lights, radio knobs, climate control, and shift knob. Over the course of owning the car, this problem has occured 7 times and repaired under warranty.

They have replaced all knobs, radio, dimmer switch, gauge cluster thing that all the knobs connect to, etc. I'm really disappointed as I bought this car to fit in our itty bitty garage. I'm to the breaking point running around with these repairs and will trade it in soon for most likely the Mini Cooper.

I know this problem is extremely rare. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.
