Could be the floating brake calipers "floating. Next time you pull in make it a point to have your foot on the brakes and see if you still get the same noise.

Actually found a bump that I could do it every time.. it sounds like a winding down noise??? After several times I have confirmed it is not coming from the break pedal but definitely is a winding noise after hitting a bump and breaking.

THOUGHTS? I am lost on this one.

Dome Light

On the dome light not fading out. I just had my car into my local dealer to find out why the dome light does not fade out when I close the door.

The had the car all day and called me before closing to say that it does not have that option. Even though it's in the manual .

Well that's the word.

Your dealer must be wrong. Numerous Fit owners here (check out thread under Fit lighting) have said that their dome light fades out. My dealership told me that it is supposed to fade out. Mine also does not. They want my car for a lengthy check over as to what the problem is when it's mid-week, not too busy, and convenient for me ... I'll let you know when I've had a chance to get mine looked at ... by the way, I have an LX auto. What about others?

My dome light fades out after a min. but I have had problems with it not going out when it is supposed to (all doors shut, etc.) and as a result I leave it in the off position most of the time.

A good sign that after 29k miles this is the only problem.

Faulty Fog Lamp House repair has been completed. Very smooth process. Anybody feel nervous / sad when their fit goes to the shop? Just don't like it not being in my driveway or with me... Beginning to wonder if I need help.

I've got another thread on here listing my multiple problems with my Honda Fit but here is a list in case you missed it...
1. Broken driver's seat...the springs broke under the padding. The seat was replaced. Problem solved.
2. Leaking door. Water was getting around the seal causing the seatbelt to get wet. The seal was replaced and the problem has not returned.
3. Oil Consumption. The car loses 1/2 quart of oil every two weeks. I'm currently still trying to get this fixed. The car will most likely be turned over to Honda and claimed as a lemon.
4. Stereo replacement. The thing stopped reading discs. Stereo replaced and is working as it should.
5. Creaking dashboard...happened after new stereo install. Problem still not resolved. Dealer left huge scratch on dashboard trying to find issue. They state it was there before I brought it in...BBB claim filed.
6. Stripped lug bolts...dealer did it when I took it in to have the brakes checked (next issue). Stripped the bolts by not using supplied lock key and they made me pay for it. BBB claim filed and formal complaint filed against dealer with Honda.
4. Warped brake rotors (newest problem). Still not resolved.

I have forgotten to write in this thread that I have had one warranty repair on my Jazz 1.4i LS CVT (GD1) since i got it in February 2007.

The light switch and turning light switch arm was to sensitive.
When I was turning right and using the right turning light and at the same time was tuching the arm a little forward, the front headlight turned on to long mode (nut sure what it is called in English). Even if the arm was not over the "notch".

The dealer told me that the arm was replaced with the factory one when I got the car since I got the fog-lights. The fault was probably applied then and it was the switch that was faulty not the mounting.

Anyway they orderd a new switch and replaced it just a week after I told them about the problem, with no cost for me.
Now it work like it was supposed to.

I will bet you that your rotors are NOT warped. It is very rare to actually "warp" a rotor. You would need to have a really HOT rotor and then shock cool it by hitting a puddle or something.

What you need to do is "rebed" the pads. Do 5-7 moderate to heavy braking from 50 - 30 mph without stopping the car. You want to get thte brakes pretty hot, close to brake fade. Then drive the car several miles without using the brakes to cool them. If you can let it sit several hours till completely cool after that. This will rebed the pads to the rotors.

You actually transfer pad material to the rotors. This material can develop a high spot that gives you the feeling of a warped rotor. This procedure should buff the high spot out and leave you a nice uniform layer of pad material, fixing your "warped" rotors.

Thanks for the advise! I'll give a try! I had the dealership look at the brakes and they told me there was nothing wrong with the rotors or the pads but they couldn't explain why the pedal felt like there was warping. The car is going back in this Thursday because the check engine light came on while I was going to work this past Monday. My Fit is a constant NIGHTMARE!

My car does the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's the fuel pump. I never really gave it much thought since my Civic made the same noise but not as loud. I think it's louder in the Fit since the fuel tank is right under the front seats.

What a load of crap. I bet you read "the not warped article" floating around on the web with the rest of the internet myths.

It's obvious that you have never worked on brake systems and never "Turned " a rotor on a brake lathe or you wouldn't make dumb statements like "I bet you rotors are not warped". Disc brake rotors do warp frequently on both Honda's and other makes.

While "turning rotors" you can actually see, hear, feel and MEASURE how much rotors ARE WARPED and it's sure as hell not brake pad buildup. So try and learn something and go to your local brake shop and try and tell the mechanics that rotors don't warp and they will laugh you out of the shop after they show you one being turned in the brake rotor lathe so you can see for yourself how much they warp.

I guess car manufactures are just wasting their money stamping rotor turning information specs. onto the rotors.

I have warped rotors in the course of one high speed chase it doesn't take getting them wet or any other nonsense just drive and brake too hard for too long and you WILL warp your rotors.
