dealer called me today, wanted me to pick my color. They have been alloted 10 and already have 9 sold. I spoke to the sales manager, he said the relaunch will be Oct 2nd and my car will arrive after that in Oct. He had no other info regarding the car. Said Honda is tight lipped regarding it. He also said to take the stuff on the Internet with a grain of salt. He said he has seen Honda 'leak' info on their cars just to throw off the competition. There were a few new colors, one was a blue and one was a different black. He said to expect a new brochure no sooner then Oct 2nd.

Where are you and your dealer? (it says mpls in your info pane--i have no idea what mpls is!)
No brochure until Oct. 2nd even? Mis-information this late in the game? Wtf? Do they think Toyota is going to re-engineer an entirely new platform in a couple months if they release info now? This is making me re-think getting an '09 this year unless Honda cleans up their act. They can't even meet demand for the 07/08 here so I don't buy that they need to sell out of stock of that model either. Just release the official brochures and let people start pre-ordering for cryin' out loud.

Don't go crazy people, it's only a car. The dealers just want to start a feeding frenzy to sell at MSRP or higher, much higher in most cases with gas prices the way they are.

oh, poop. I just realized center console meant the thing in between seats. for some reason I was thinking "dashboard console type thing" I am really sorry.

Minneapolis MN. White bear Honda. The Sales manager actually seemed frustrated about not getting info on the car too. He said Honda could easily release all the info now for the 09's because the 08's will still sell out. He was in San Fran 2 weeks ago and saw the car. I asked him if the Navi had live traffic updates. He said he did not see it but they were only given a quick run through of the car. I ordered the blue like the one that was in this thread a few pages ago. He informed me that they would only be charging msrp on the car and not more. Said it wasnt good business to screw your customers selling above sticker. So I was happy to hear that. Again He said there was going to be big press Oct 2 for the re release and he did not expect any brochures before then. He said the misinformation was standard ops in the car biz. He told me often times honda 'leaks' pictures of cars that arnt even Honda's just to throw off the competition. No specific info on pricing though he did agree with me that it would be priced below the civic and stay in competition with other cars in the segment alla versa etc.
Damn I bet this summer is going to creep by for you waiting for the new car to come in. I get impatient just waiting for the UPS guy to bring new speakers or something in a week. I couldn't imagine waiting a 4-5 months.

good point, I am mistaken, he said sticker price. So what exactly is the difference? When I say sticker price, I mean the price that honda puts on the window sticker. What is msrp then? And where do they post that?

No kidding, man. I am pretty much frothing at the mouth...havin' dreams about the new Fit. My girlfriend is so sick of hearing about it.
