Just put money down on my 2010 Fit Sport. Got it for sticker with free all-season mats.

17,970 before tax title and liscense.

In US cars are so cheap (well i don't envy you ).
I paid for my jazz crystal black pearl 1,3 16.000 EUR, thats like 24.000 $!!!! It's really expensive here in Europe.
Also gas, for full tank I have to pay almost 50 EUR, thats like 75 $.

I paid $16,920 OTD (taxes, destination, tags, everything) for a 2010 base model auto, no extras included. I love it!

$19,868. $100 off MSRP + Dealer Installed Splash Guards (Couldn't get dealership to remove them).

Most stealerships in California are loading the new '10s up with as much crap as possible to inflate the prices well above MSRP. I decided to use an auto broker this time and his services were great. (Google: Bob Peralta) The car is being delivered to me on Monday. I highly recommend Bob for those of you in California who hate dealerships. He got me a better price than I was able to get on my own, without the headache!

¥1,965,000, the RS MT costs almost $1000 more than the CVT model. Guess because of the VSA, rear disks and 16" wheels being standard. Crazy though to think the, essentially 7 speed, CVT with all the hardware/engineering inside costs less than a 5 MT setup. Though I still chose the MT model because well MT just makes you more one with the car than a AT mission. Actually have to work somewhat versus just going and/or paddle shifting. :P

Converted (¥87/$1) is $22,586. Still have to pay taxes which will run close to another $1000. This price included the Honda Access suspension (lowers 25mm/1") and the Bosch Euro horns. Coming from the AP2 Snisen, I didn't want to go back to a puny sounding horn, needed something a bit more authoritative. When I bought my brand new Integra R in March 2003, the total cost with all taxes was just right around $24,750 (¥118/$1). If only the $ was still that rate of exchange, it would of saved me like $6000 (mod money). Oh well.

Going off topic, wonder if our powers that be are wanting to keep the $ worthless in exchange for making foreign products more expensive (namely cars) in hopes of the masses buying American, I mean Mexican. That whole C4C program really annoys the hell out of me. It really was brought about to get people to bail out the US car makers and get onboard with the Socialist movement happening in the US. Whoops, let me not start into politics.

I know there are probably quite a few on this board that used that program, did any of you just go buy a junked car for like $500 and turn it in? I'm sure that had to happen somewhere by more than a few people. Though I don't know the specifics how the program works(ed).

555sexydrive,
The Cash for Clunkers programmed required the buyer have 1+ year(s) of ownership and insurance.

If they are going to charge $1,500 over MSRP. I would find a dealer in northern cali who will offer you sticker. Then fly up to pick it up and drive down the coast.

You would spend the same amount of money, plus have nice little vacation while you're at it. If the dealers wont deal, this can be a great option.

I have done it before, and it is worth it, especially when i sent the thank you card to the dealer who was trying to screw me, thanking him for my vacation.

I just got a 2010 Sport Automatic for $17,388 plus tax and reg in northern California, including some extra protective door trim stuff, and an add on KARR alarm thing that they took out of the deal, but didn't bother actually taking out of the car. Another local dealer quoted me a black Fit Sport auto for $17,355, which he claimed was "invoice", but I wanted Tidewater Blue and he didn't have it.

Every dealer I talked with said the Fit is really popular, and around the cash for clunkers time they were constantly selling out, but now there seems to be a lot of stock, so northern Cali is not a bad place to buy a Fit right now!!

7/2008 sport BOM out the door $17,400 1st Team in Chesapeake,VA
the worst time to buy $4.00+ gal. for reg. gas.
One dealership was going to charge a $1,500 surcharge and when I asked why he/the dealership would gouge the customer like that, the salesman didn't hesitate "cuz we can". I turned around and walked right back to my 2000 Durango gas hog and left with him in the rearveiw mirror.

Bought in March 09 for 16,000 plus tax, tag, and title. Not exactly sure but I think everything added in was around 18,000.
