2010 Fit Sport Auto - Boston area

Hello,
I am getting a quote for $18,500 OTD for a 2010 Sport Auto.

Price: 17,000
MA Tax (6.25%): 1065
Fees: 299
Plates: 125

Total: 18,500

Is that a good price ? Is there any wiggle room to include any options in that price ? The dealer is quoting $130 for carpet mats.

I have to pull the trigger soon - before aug 31st - to get the price and 0.9 % financing . Any help will be greatly appreciated!

thanks
hpfit

Carpet mats should be ~ 75 bucks from an online vendor.

I went to truecar.com and punched in my information. It's a SSM 2010 Sport AT. 16,018 was the price of the car which was about 1500 under invoice. This was pre-taxes and local fees. Taxes and fees were ~1400. I got it from Spreen Honda in Loma Linda California.

I would shop that quote to other dealers, I went to 5 Honda dealers until I pulled the trigger and I was about to leave and go to a 6th dealer, but in the end they gave in to my demands. I paid 16493 OTD with carpet floormats and a armrest console for a base auto Fit. I personally would not buy a Sport auto for over $18k OTD and it would include the mats and armrest console. When going to the next dealer tell them that the price includes (mats, console, etc) and if they beat it you will buy today, if not be prepared to get up and walk out. Hope this helps.

Just got my Fit Sport manual today....didn't get a deal, but don't think I got too ripped off. Traded in my 2007 Fit Sport manual for $9500 and paid $8600 cash for a total out the door of about $18,100 (including everything). I'd like to add that the $9500 was a few hundred more than I thought I would get.

I finally pulled the trigger! $18,500 OTD ($16,950 sale price of the car).
I price matched the car with 4 other dealers. I was getting was $16,800 (Car price) for an instock vehicle.
But my wife and kids wanted RED only. I couldn't find a single dealer in MA carrying a Red Fit Sport. That cost me $200 more as the dealer had to get it from a partner dealer in NH. I know I paid a premium for the color, but oh well, hopefully I was not ripped.

I did get sold for the Extended warranty for $880. I have 30 days to cancel. Do you think I can get a better coverage from somewhere else or I don't need a warranty at all ?

Extended warrenties are like health insurance or collision insurance, you hope you never have to use it. But it is a Honda so you probably will never need it.

The better idea for the extended warranty is to put the money in a savings account of some kind and then use that to pay for repairs when needed. If you do want a warranty, the best way to find out a good price is to shop around just as you did for the car itself. Ask five dealers for a quote, etc.

7 yr / 75000 miles , $50 deductible.

The dealer is not giving carpet mats/wheel locks for free. Dealer is asking $131 and $75 (installed price) for them respectively.
Are wheel locks are necessity?

HandA has both of them for ~120 with shipping. Installation shouldn't be an issue. The mats take maybe 10 minutes with a box cutter to install the lockdowns for the drivers side. The wheel locks are taking a single lug nut off and then putting it back on. Not worth the 100 bucks you're paying that's for sure. You should be able to do that yourself assuming you have or can get a torque wrench.

As for the necessity, well, there have been a bunch of thefts of the tires reported on this board. For a cost of about $40 bucks, its good insurance.

Is this a Honda Care plan because 7/75k with a $50 deductable is not listed on the Honda Care available plans? Honda Care does have a 7/80k with a $0 deduct or $100 deduct. Anyway $880 is not a good price, try Sarcucci Honda and Hyannis Honda, get quotes from both, they will be way less.

The wheel locks...apparently all the Fits are coming with them whether you want them or not. One dealer said because they come with it we have to charge you for it-and wanted to charge the installed price to boot. The other dealer did not mention it or charge me for it, I just noticed that my car had the wheel locks on it after, even though I didn't ask for them or really want them.

If they insist on charging you the installed price for the wheel locks tell them to at least give you the lug nuts they took off to install the wheel locks...

In my area the price for a Fit Sport manual is:
MSRP $17, 160
Invoice: $16,743
truecar.com: $16,293

How are you people getting Fits Sports for "just over 15k"?
