Just bought a new 2010 Honda Fit Sport (had 19 miles on it) in Storm Silver Metallic just last week, and I absolutely love it!!!

Total paid - including tax, destination, etc. - amounted to roughly $18200, and the dealer threw in wheel locks and carpeted floor mats. Financed with no money down, but they gave me a great deal on my trade-in ($4200 for my 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S that had 140,000 miles on it).

If you're in the Greater Philadelphia area, I would HIGHLY recommend Keenan Honda in Doylestown, PA. What a pleasurable buying experience! Very laid back, no pressure, willing to work with you to get the exact price you want, and extremely friendly. And avoid Mike Piazza Honda (Langhorne, PA) like the plague, bunch of a-holes in there.

Hey Mike,

I'm in Hatfield and was actually going to stop by Keenan this weekend to work on a Fit myself. Good news they are low pressure!

Just curious, what was the APR you got on that finance? I'm not sure what it's looking like nowadays, but the 2010 0.9% APR is quite enticing, but if it's not like 6% (like my old loan) I'd feel inclined to bite.

I second Piazza as a bunch of insufferable a-holes, dealing with this guy over e-mail and he's holding out on 2010 prices like they are worth the same as 2011s. lol.

My APR was 6.99%, but that was only because I'm in debt out my a** with student loans! Nevertheless, that was lower than the APR I had on the Altima, and I was actually able to lower my payments because I got such a good deal on my trade. You should be fine. Try to get Fred if you can.

Advice: Go for one of the leftover new 2010 models:

New Honda Car | For Sale | Doylestown, PA

They will be more willing to work with you to get the price you want on a 2010 vs. a 2011 model. The only real difference I've seen in my research is that VSA comes standard on the 2011, whereas on the 2010 it's part of the nav package. Really, though, I haven't needed it once yet, even with this crappy weather! You don't miss what you don't have, as they say.

On a different note, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks Piazza is "teh suck." I was also considering the Element before ultimately narrowing it down to the Fit, and I knew they were FOS when they tried to push a 2007 Element with 24,000 miles on it on me for $20,000...that in addition to only offering me $1500 for my Altima. That's only $500 more than what I traded in my 1993 Ford Taurus for!

EDIT: I should also point out that this is the second vehicle we've purchased from Keenan, as my wife purchased her 2010 Civic LX coupe from there last year.

They also give you free inspections for life, first three oil changes free, and free loaners for life. Which is a pretty good deal IMO. Also ask him to sign you up for the ODOrewards program.

2011 Sport AT wearing Polished Metallic Metal (Gray to most folks) was $18,197. With Title, license, 4 year registration & county registration surcharge, electronic filing(got plates immediately) and processing, out-the-door total was $18,620. The dealer included a full tank of gas and the internet sales rep threw in a set of wheel locks.

I had three area dealers quote the same price and two were lower, but they didn't have the car.

Im back fit freak! I just purchased a 2011 TW Sport A/T from Checkered Flag in Va Beach Va for 17,800 msrp, otd with taxes, title and registration and that damn 499$ fee that it seems all the Honda dealers charge in my area, with all that the price came to 19k. It had 6 miles on the odo when I drove it off the lot! Fresh off the boat, ha ha! My first fit, a 2008 AT SSM. was totaled 2 weeks ago...

I got my 2011 Honda Fit Sport (A/T) in Polished Metal Metallic. I got mine for under 18 with all fees and with extras thrown in. I won't go into the details but I shopped 12 other dealerships before realizing Justin at Rock Honda was going to get me the best deal.

If you are in Southern Cali and are in the market go to Justin at Rock Honda in Fontana, Ca. He's a solid guy and one of us, has a sick S2K track car he daily drives.

Tell him Ali sent you.

Time to build!

Question 2010 Honda Fit Sport Auto (No Nav)

I am looking for a 2010 Honda Fit Sport Auto for my wife and we found one at a Honda dealer in the Dallas Metroplex. It has 8781 miles on it.

They internet add shows retail $20,995 and they listed it for $16,992 as a internet price and was wondering if you think I have any room to negotiate?

If so, what would you offer as a starting point? I was looking at the previous people who purchase but it appears these were brand new 2010s. While the miles are low on this car it is still 'used' -- moreso than a demo.

I think if I can get it < 17500 OTD with tax, tag, fees, etc it 'may' be a good deal. From what I've read it seems people are pulling off brand new 2011's for not much more.

First of all, I highly doubt that fit retails for $21,000-- that number isn't even realistic for a Navi model.

Secondly, if you CAN'T get it for <$17,500 OTD, they are screwing you hard. I am about to purchase a brand new 2010 SSM Fit Sport Auto w/ center arm rest for $17,423 OTD (6% PA tax). There really are no new 2010s in the immediate area? You can always query the dealership and if they really want your business they'll find one for you if possible. That's what happened with my impending purchase!

Good luck, don't let them ream you on a trade-in they probably paid $4k less than sale price on!!

Yes, I agree with regarding the 21,000 starting price. I did some research on the VIN via CarFax and found the car was registered in MD for a Corporate Fleet and sold at an auction and bought by the Honda dealer. Free Carfax report shows no damage, problems, etc. I went to Kelly Blue book and rated the car as excellent (kelly states only 5% of trade-ins are excellent) and found

Kelley Blue Book Trade-In Value (2010 Honda Fit Sport Auto)
Excellent $15,275
Good $14,425
Fair $12,925

I agree I would getting screwed if I can't get this car for OTD < 17,500. If this dealer does not want to play I will inquire at a few other dealers regarding possibly finding a new 2010.

Perhaps my starting offer should be 15,992 which would reflect the $4000 savings they tout. LOL

Update --

Dealer who had the used 2010 Honda Fit Sport with 8781 miles for 16,992 would not budge saying they were into the car for 16,100. Moved on.

Have been talking to Honda dealers all day re New 2010 Honda Fit Sport no Nav Auto. One wanted me to leave a deposit on CC before he (internet sales manager) gave me an OTD price. The other dealer quoted me 17,997 OTD (includes 6.25% tx sales tax). This would put the car at about ~16700. If I could get it under 17,500 with the 0.9% honda financing or the 2.75% financing I arranged at my credit union that sounds like a pretty good deal. Any thoughts?

$17,203 out the door price in NY back in April 2010 for a brand new 2010 Sport MT. You're talking a last year car... it's February 2011. They need to clear them out - they're killing you.

How does $15,957 sound for TW 2010 sport AT? After 6.25% and $300 fee, $17,254.30 OTD, 0.9% APR and no down payment.

I am also looking to hopefully buy a Fit.
A dealer in MD is quoting me $14995 + $750 dest. Fee + $89 processing = $15834 + 6% tax and tags for a 2010 Fit Sport M/T with no options. They are also offering a 2010 Fit Sport A/T with no options for $15,745.00 + $750.00-destination + $89.00-dealer processing fee = $16,584.00 + taxes & tags. Can I do better?
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

What dealer are you working with? That savings is worth flying in to pick up the car. I don't know what the deal is with these Dallas dealerships.

I just paid 15995 plus 750 dest and $100 dealer processing for a 2011 Fit Sport AT two weeks ago.

I went to Shockley Honda. They have quite a few 2010 fits left on the lot and I'd think they'd be willing to go lower on those but my internet sales guy said I could have the 2011 for the same price as the 2010 so go figure...

So chef_grace it seems like you're getting a decent deal for the area but for $200 more you could get the 2011 with VSA..if that means anything to you.

That being said I'm not sure they'd offer the same price because it was 1/31 and they were trying to meet goals...

Jerel2K10, I am working with Sport Honda in Silver Spring. O'Donnell in Ellicott City, quoted me about $200 less for a regular 2010 Fit Sport Auto, so I was going to try to see if Sport could beat it.

AshleyK, Thanks for the information, didn't think of searching for dealers in that area, and is not too far from where I live. That is a geat price for a 2011. VSC will be nice to have. Sport wanted about $1000 more for a current model. I'll ask them about 2010s and post the information as soon as get it.

$17,900 seems to be the going rate for a 2011 Fit Sport A/T, I wouldn't expect much below that. For that price, you could also probably get a new 2010 Fit Sport A/T w/ Navi (and VSA), which I honestly think would have higher resale in the long run considering 2011 and 2010 are the same damn thing. Also, at 0.9% APR, it's hard to say no to a 2010 if they are available.

But to each their own...

Called Holmes Honda in Shreveport, LA and was quoted 17584.30 OTD (incl tax, tag, fees). The car already has the protection package (wheel locks, cargo tray, etc) but the salesman is trying to charge me for the 131 dollar floor mats. I could probably get them to throw them in. What do you think of this deal?

He has the same car with tint which he says would add 250 to the OTD price.

Seems off if the last post re: 17900 for a 2011 is the Sport model OTD.
