Nice, Nicotine! I cleaned the glass inside and out and the headlights on mine.

Ordered oem struts and shocks as well as Swift springs. Replacing my Buddy Club N+. Great coils but tired of the harsh ride.

Polished/wet sanded my used retrofitted headlights. Now they finally look shiny and don't have horrible bumps all over them.

Also put my winter shoes on. It's amazing how much smoother the ride is with an extra 2 inches of sidewall...

I used Mcquires ultimate liquid on my 2013. Bright and shines. I definitely get some minor front dings on my commute. How long does this product last? What are others using on minor dings from rocks. Have a few front bumper and hood. Very minor but want to keep it looking good.

3m clear bra, and the hood deflector should help with that. My suggestion if you're going to get the 3m clear bra done would be to do it before you get any more chips, or else it'll just make them look worse. The paint on the fit is horribly thin and chips way too easily. I've got tons on my hood, a few on my a pillars, and even a couple on my front roofline. Bumper is fine though thanks to the clear bra.

It does seem prone to chips. Yet, the model retains value well. Considered the bra. Not sure. They offered one at the closing. What is a reasonable price?

I had a 3m bra on mine. From the factory. Hated it. Went yellow and faded. Looked horrid.

It really depends on where you get it done, but anywhere from 300-500 for the whole front end.

It doesn't turn yellow if you polish/wax it. That slight yellowing only really shows up on white anyway, and still looks a hell of a lot better than having hundreds of chips.

Nicotine - So you go bear now? Do you use a wax? I waxed just the bumper last week with mcquires ultimate liquid. Spray waxed the rest. Had gotten 2 am bumper dings before, none since wax. So. I did the rest of the car. Hood got an extra coat. We will see.

Don't do it at the dealership. They quoted me well over 800. Do a local google search for auto detail shops and tint shops for clear bra installations. They'll easily be half the dealers price.

Yea, I have a local friend w a detail shop who advertise clear bras, I'll check w him, too. Rural area so want to be sure on quality. I'll price shop if I decide to go that way.

If Honda didn't use cheap paint that is soft like butter, it would be less of a worry.

Yes, that is true, Nicotine. I had similar hood issues with my VW years ago - so the rounded shape is part of it. Maybe now I know why they bragged about it having 13 # of paint! Just got done getting Ultimate on the roof - which had some sap. The piece in front of the spoiler really had a lot of junk stuck into the paint. At least it has something other than just the paint now. And my first week with Mcquires on the bumper - it did a lot better. Looking into the clear bra this week.

Anyone remember the old VW ads? I am probably dating myself - but any car enthusiast would probably enjoy this youtube -

Started polishing my intake runners. Should pretty wicked when done.

If you have a 12mm socket, 6 inch exntension, short 10mm socket, and patience you can remove the runners in 5 minutes!

Have some patience with teh breather hose!

I found a TON of oil where the breather feeds the runners. Going to get a filtered catch can for my car in the near future for sure!!

Oil can cause detonation inside the combustion chamber! NO NO NO!!

Applied some i-vtec decals. Some people may not like it but I am trying to differentiate mine from some of the other stock Fits in the area. I do not plan on doing any major body mods so this is one way I see to make it mine. I have the Polished Metal Metallic color so I chose the black decal to make it more subtle.

I also realized today someone has already dinged my passenger side door (good thing I got the side molding) I have only had the care for two weeks now.

Did two things that I thought were complimentary to each other on the Fit this morning.

1) Added 2-gauge ground wires to passenger side mount and battery -ve terminal. (This is something I have found gave a slightly positive impact on other vehicles I've owned, and hey I had all the materials already!!!)
2) drilled out the shifter knob to a lower and more comfortable height. I did not know that the shift pattern template is just a snap in piece of plastic, not moulded on to the shifterknob. This made the drilling MUCH easier.

My impression is that shifts are slightly quicker and the power band is more even throughout the RPM range, especially at low revs. We'll see over the coming days if itis more than just the "look what I did" placebo effect!!
