What did you do to your GE fit today?
Finally got my first Maintenance Minder (A1) alert at 8719 miles. Time for Yoshi's first oil change and tire rotation. Progress rear anti-sway bar should be here Tuesday.

Picked up a new stablemate for the Fit last week. New '14 VW GTI Wolfsburg Edition for the wife.

and visually verify the line for straighness. you can measure it to the bottom
of the door too, i guess for straightness.
then use that as a guide to place your decal in parallel. GL
out the abarth just for the funness.
for me, ran a few errands this am in my '12. had a fun time just driving around.
i got some red vinyl coming in today so will work on the rear emblem background to make it appear like a type-r red emblem. hope it doesnt rain..

The new models just started arriving at the vw dealers. This was basically a left over that we got for a great deal. (23.5k). Marked down from 28.5 sticker. Now's the time if you want a deal and a final year model of the last platform. The 2015s are all new platform and engine and being built in a new plant in Mexico just like the new Fits. Personally I like my Japanese cars made in Japan and my German cars made in Germany.
AMEN! That's why I scrambled to pick up a 2013 Fit when I heard about the assembly moving to Mexico. I really considered picking the new Golf R, but VW reliability has kept me away. All my friends with VW have issues, except one with a 2012 GTI but he drives like a grandma and only has like 10k miles on it.
I've been a VW guy since my first car and even before that thru family members. My other car at the moment is a 2001 Audi TT that i'm putting the motor back together on as we speak. I have 248k miles on it and have replaced about everything at this point. But it's fully modded and my fun/race car so it's to be expected.
I've heard of quite a few issues with the MK6 GTI's. Usually every 30k miles or so something needs fixing according to most. My wife only does 10k a year so it should be spread out a bit for this one.
I was so butt-hurt about the Continental DWS tires sucking that I almost ditched my Fit (there are numerous other things I wanted in it, like leather). I was going to pick up a Porsche Macan S. Instead I am keeping it as a DD, it is just too much fun, and with the new 10lb 15" wheels, 195/55/15 tires, and swift springs, it will be like a whole new car. Picked up the new Boxster as a fun car, and with that sport exhuast the car really sings!!

I've been having some buyers remorse this past week after driving the GTI. It really makes the Fit feel so damn wobbly on the highway at the speeds involved in my commute. I may end up checking out the MK7 Golf SportWagon when it get's here.

The DWS's weren't good? (Never mind this question - I saw the thread)

Perhaps new tires/wheels and some swift springs? One of the big compliments I here about the swift springs is how stable it makes the car on the highway.
Wider tires help too. 205s on a 7-8" wide rim would make a world of difference. I am getting my swifts installed next week.
I was going to buy a Boxster GTS, but they wouldn't budge on prices. I got the S for about $7,000 less than MSRP.

[QUOTE=Sapper;1260104]Yes it's an S and no it's a manual not PDK. I would rather bicycle than drive an automatic, although as far as autos go the PDK is pretty amazing.[/QUOTE
Lovely! I hear you bro. That crack pop exhaust is my favorite tune! My gf would never let me get a manual.. because she cant drive it! :/ But at least she will let me own a Porsche w/ PDK when I make the cash.

"We've removed the vehicle application poll.
In the end it was a better measure of how quickly people can game a survey than determining what models are in demand. For example, someone from Monterey voted 217 times for the 2007-2010 US Accord V6. More than half the votes were multiple votes like this. The R18 & Fit owners did this a lot too.
If we do something in the future then we'll try to ensure that people don't bias the results, perhaps by asking for a photo of the VIN as well."
Thats from Hondata
Prior to 2009 there is a well documented problem with intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing which can fail and blow your whole engine.
It's only like $3k to replace on a pre-09 (09+ model got rid of IMS) so if you get a good deal on like a 2008 for $20k for $23k you can be driving around in a Porsche without too much worry about reliability.

Grab any set of aftermarket springs. een if they only drop you half an inch, the extra stiffness that all of them provide will decrease highway wobble
Another trick is to forget the foolish 32 or 34psi honda recommends in the tires and shoot to 35-38psi, depending on road conditions. Rough roads, stick to 35. good quality highway, hit that 38psi up. Big difference in this lightweight car
