What did you do to your GE fit today?
Well I think I know why, considering the growth of your Family, the Fit is probably getting a little snug.
However iirc if you took advantage of the rental due to the recall and signed the storage waiver I do believe that says you will not sell the car until the parts are replaced.
Quoted from the Aigbag recall thread post #36 from the Honda form Odie posted:
"I agree to maintain possession of the Subject Vehicle and will not sell, alter or modify the Subject Vehicle until such time as the Subject Recall Repair is performed"
But maybe this is a perfect case for that trade/depreciation assist thing?
Wonder if they will somehow try and charge you for the rental if you don't keep the car until it's repaired?

I also have an F150 so I'm no longer concerned about fitting the family in the Fit, since I have a 6 seater truck and my wife has a 2016 Pilot. I'm going to ask Honda about selling the Fit. I need to go there soon anyways BC the 30 days of having the loaner is approaching. If I have to keep the Fit until summer for the airbag to be done, that's no problem. It'll give me even more of a reason to do research on the next platform I want and price out vehicle options.
I really do like the Fit, it makes a great commuter. I don't need to use it for work or anything, I have a work vehicle for that. So the mpg aspect of it doesn't really matter, it's pretty much the extreme lack of power that's pushing me away. I don't want to start a debate, I knew the Fit was low in that area, although great in corners. For my driving and what I do I'm really leaning toward a nice sounding aggressive cam V8 to have fun with on nice days. Or another big turbo S2k.

Finally got around to doing some maintenance/upgrades @28.5k miles:
- Oil change w/ 0w-20 Idemitsu Full synthetic, Mobil1 oil filter & Liqui Moly Cera Tec Friction Modifier (after 10.5k miles)
- ATF drain and fill 3 qts with Honda DW-1
- Lubed up the front bushings to get rid of the suspension squeak when cold
- Installed Continental DWS 205/50R16 tires
- Installed Progress RSB
- Adjusted the rear drum brakes
The fit drives A LOT nicer and handles turns with much more confidence after the RSB and tires!

Don't mind mike, his general sour demeanor is one the highlights of this thread.

Go for it, if you want to! It's your money, your (potential car), life is too short to be bothered by everyones own personal tastes.
Yo if I could actually fit in an S2000 I would drive the sh!t out of that thing lol
Alright so I should be getting my tax return soon... which means new wheels
I've been prowling Craigslist for some time now, looking for a good deal on a nice set. I got the current set on Craigslist for something like $200 (with tires and lugs), but this time around I'm interested in getting some mid-level wheels (Rota, nice Enkei's, etc) and nice tires as well. Anyone have any suggestions? Something I've really been looking at are the Rota SVN (Volk RE30 reps) in bronze... Most likely 17x7.5. Thanks for any help.
Tight spot, got some cuts to prove it. Replaced the bearing in the idler pulley as well. I keep a couple of the 6203 bearings around they seem to fit a lot of idler pulleys. Used the press to pop the bearing in and out but you can use the socket and hammer method as well. Just don't pound on the inner race of the new bearing going in. Removed the small ground strap and I removed the capscrews holding the AC hose in place so I could move it around a bit. Disconnected the multi-pin electrical connector from the ABS to get some clearance for the alternator bolt as well. Popped off two of the plastic retainers behind the RF wheel after steering fully to the right. The worst part was the lower alternator mounting bolt. I had to get that loose in order to get the alternator to pivot so the belt would loosen. Got it from underneath with a long extension putting the ratchet handle near the oil filter for more swing.
Checked the oil. Checked tire pressure. Saved the old belt in the spare tire area for emergencies.

On another note, I've narrowed my wheel selection down to three wheels: Rota SVN (17x7.5 +45 Bronze), XXR 527 (17x7.5 +40 Chromium Black), and Traklite Holeshot (17x7.5 +38 Silver w/ Polished Lip). I have no idea what to get, I think all of them would look good. What I'm most concerned about is the offset... I currently have 16x7 +40 and if I'm too low I rub, mostly because of the tires (215/40/R16 I think). I'm planning to get 205/45/R17 Continental ExtremeContact DW as my next tires. That should reduce rubbing quite a bit... What do you guys think?

Busy day! Replaced OEM tires with same-sized 185/55-16 Yokahama Avid Ascents. Changed air filter to K&N one. Replaced all inside map/dome/trunk lights with LEDS. I have, but still need to install, rear sway bar and FIAMM El Grande horns.

Wal-Mart matched Mavis online price . Get to inspect tires for manufacture date , if not acceptable time , no cost if denied . I think Mavis has a restocking fee . General tires are available at both sites . They may match other tire brands as long as they're at both sites and the business is within a 30(?) mile radius .
