Hi all
any opinions on the tires
205/50/16 Michel Pilot Sport 4S
Thought I’d take everyone’s advice on
205 tires and see what all the fuss is about
I’ve read a few times here that the OEM Dunlops are pretty bad and I like to do some fast cornering (sometimes)
Am I making a good choice???

Don't know these Michelins in particular. But in the past, I have had Michelins on an Accord and hated them so much! They did last a long time, but they had no grip at all!
Up to now, never been disappointed with Toyo tires.

What model Toyo and size??
I really LOVE my Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. They are better in the wet and a bit more quiet then the previous generation Michelin Pilot Super Sport.
Please note that even Michelin have cheaper model, so you can't compare a cheap michelin with some Toyo without apple to apple comparison.
However if you are talking about Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, well, this is one of if not The Best SUMMER Performance ROAD tires in the world currently available.
They have SO MUCH GRIP that it might be hard for you to burn out your tire even with 205 size.
The only problem is, they will not last beyond 30 to 35k miles, but if the cost is not object, and you want the best ROAD tires money can buy at this moment, the Pilot Sport 4S is the one.
Make sure it is the 4S and not just the 4 (without S) or even the A/S.
I personally had used both the 215/40ZR18 and currently 225/40ZR18. even with just the 215, no matter how hard I corner, the tire NEVER squeal !!!

My suspension is nearing it's end of life and I'm considering getting BC BR coilovers, can anyone that's run them confirm that I need to reuse the OEM mounting hardware or do they come with new strut mounts ect... I can't find that info for some reason.
I checked the Tracking Status of My Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby seats, and I am happily surprised that they are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I will post picture once it arrived.
By the way, my buyer in Japan informed me that my 2 seats were store display model because they were the LAST 2 available Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby available (although they still have about 30 units of the SR-7"F" (FLAT base model) in stock)
Today, ASM officially announced about the out of production status of the Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby, below is the link to ASM announcement:
I am glad that I order them right on time before they stopped production... I mean after 6 years of dreaming, I almost let my dream get away
I might not be the first people in the US to own a pair of Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby, but as compensation, I become the HAPPY owner of the LAST 2 Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby available in the world

Replaced the front brakes yesterday. 165,270 miles. New rotors, pads and hardware from RockAuto.
Easy job (once I was able to remove the rotor retaining screws). Years of heat and humidity had frozen them in place. It took quite a few wacks with my impact tool to loosen them up.
I wish there was a thumbs up button here like youtube and fb so we can acknowledge everyone's hardwork and effort without having to type a message. I really like what you guys are doing in your fits, gives people like me an idea on how to do things DIY style!

I believe it. I took mine off at 71k and they'd go easily another 30-50k. High life pad, and its probably why the car tested so poorly in 70-0 braking.
I thoroughly greased all the doors, hatch and hood seals with Honda Shin-Etsu grease. Seals look like new now and plumped up. This grease is great stuff. It’s funny how small maintenance tasks like this one are so satisfying.
Original pads were replaced at 110k. (~5 years) Rotors weren't too bad, so I didn't have them turned.
A couple of weeks ago I got some squeal when backing out of the driveway a couple of mornings. Inspection revealed that one of 4 pads was nearing the end of life within the next 6 months or so.(Squeal was probably from flash rust due to Florida humidity.) Seemed like a good idea to replace the brakes a little early.
Recaro SR-7 ASM Limited Ruby finally arrived today The seats look much better in real life than in picture because the picture fail to show how BLACK is the color of ALCANTARA and how it match the center part of the seat (which is still black in real world but look a bit gray in picture):
ups, I almost forgot, I also changed the springs in my Ohlins Coil Over from Ohlins Specific Eibach ERS Springs to SWIFT Springs because I need 1 inch more suspension travel to carry the robots in my trunk. Turn out the SWIFT Springs is really lighter despite 1 inch taller than the Eibach ERS. I did this the past 2 days during weekend. Note that the 1 inch also partly replace the helper spring on the front strut so the ride height is still the same, just pure extra 1 in suspension travel without making the car sit higher

First, what my Fit did to me... sore back and legs, cramping fingers and toes. Vaguely because of my Fit, currently having my first meal of the day... at 9:30 PM.
I changed the oil and filter for the engine, along with the oil for the supercharger. Changed the struts/shocks and springs. And initially, I was going to rotate the tires... but apparently, two of them were to the wear bars, so I swapped in the new tire and wheel combo I bought last month. All this took the better part of the day. I had to stop part way to bike to a nearby auto shop to rent a spring compressor... which result in a bizarre “couldn’t install spring before renting but then able to install spring WITHOUT it after renting it.” WTF.
Ya know, when the wheel is supposed to be 7 inches wide, it’s not supposed to be wider than 205mm treads on the tires (205mm is about 8 inches). $#&@&#$ freaking lip actually makes it look ever so slightly stretched. I don’t like the stretched look. And yes, I did check the inside stamping, it says 17x7. I don’t get it. Unless Continental is being super cheap and the treading isn’t actually 205mm, despite the markings. Apparently, I misunderstood... the 205 is not the tread width (which is listed as 6.8 inches on TireRack), but the overall section width. Still looks stretched, which I dislike.
Aside from that stretched look, I both like it and think it looks a little goofy. I really like the way the +45mm offset shifts it back into the wheel well compared to the +43mm RPF01s it replaced. 2mm doesn't seem like it would be noticeable, but it's enough. On the other hand, there’s way too much room within the barrel... it definitely needs the BBK to be installed. Hum, if not for the BBK (that’s been sitting in my garage for the past year), I would rather get it in 16x7. Oh well. Nevermind, the 16x7 PF01 is back to +43mm, just like the RPF01.
In the end, it took way longer than it needed to be because I had to take little breaks to cool off. It was way too hot outside.
Replaced the windshield wiper motor . Used unit off ebay $38 shipped .
I would turn off the wipers and they would keep going for a while , eventually randomly stopping , sometimes half way up , sometimes all the way . I would fiddle with it until it stopped in the "rest" position .
Hi
The performance tire store near me
doesn’t have the Michelin Pilot 4S in stock
but he does have the
‘Fire-hawk’ Firestone Indy 500 tire in
Any thoughts on those??

Hi Montreal,
I never tried Firestone product before so I can't comment. I had driven some Bridgestone Summer performance tires (RE050) (Bridgestone owns Firestone) and they were great, but they were not as good as the Michelin Pilot Supersport or 4S model.
Can you buy from Tire Rack?
