Will be keeping them, have some H&R 10mm and 20mm spacers on order, 10 for the REs and 20 for the stockers when I have to do my 2 year inspection. Being that RE30s are no longer being made in smaller sizes, I can't let them go. I've done let go of MF8s (that I could be using right now), MF10s that I could also be using on my Odyssey Absolute and SprintHart CP-035s and some Work RS-Zs, none of these can be purchased new and to find them used, people want WAY TOO much, I'm not that kind of seller when I do let go of stuff. I remember when I sold my MF10s, I received a few PMs on a site that basically were saying I am screwing up the game with my low pricing. I had 1 set, not like I had 30 sets.

So the CE28 Club Racers came in much sooner than I was expecting, which is good as I quickly went and outfitted them with new Advan A050s just in time to hit up Suzuka full course on the 3rd of December. After the event will be dropping the car off at J's in Osaka and having both the suspension rebuilt by Crux and the engine rebuilt by J's to include some rods, valves, valve springs and Ti retainers from Bisi. The J's engine rebuild normally reuses the stock parts that I purchased from Bisi, but the head is ported/polished and the block is going to 12.5:1 pistons. The ECU will be reflashed according to the built engine versus the off the shelf program that I currently have. I went with the Bisi products as the J's build without was going to lower my revs back to 6800, which in turn would slightly drop my top speed which is already limited to 204km/h due to gearing. So I'm hoping they will be able to increase the revs to at least 7500~7800 to be able to squeeze out some more top speed while the internals will all just sneeze at that rev limit. Probably could go even higher, but the block walls in the L are pretty thin as is. With the upped compression as such, it is asking quite a bit. The rods showed up today, damn are they so TINY. Will take photos of them later today.

Here are some of the new CE28 Club Racers outfitted with the A050s. I so love these tires as they just grip and grip and grip for about 5~6 total hours being abused on circuit.

 

Advan makes a great looking performance tire. Between those, the A046 and the AD08 (R), I'm in love.

The car is looking great. One question though, what is the purpose of the bulge (at the left in front of the hood duct) in the Js Racing hood? You don't see that in other aftermarket hoods and I was just curious what the purpose was. I'm trying to think of what item under the bay would require the extra room...

Lastly, I see that you're going with an ECU reflash instead of something like the Foxconn kit for tuning the GE8?

 

Thanks Makita. I'm too deep in the mud to walk away from it. It is slow as can be in all honesty out on circuit, but even still, it puts a smile on my face when I do push it, especially past other cars I have no business pushing around where the driver forgot to leave Miss Daisy in the pits or their man sack hasn't yet dropped.

The bulge is for the attached air guide on the bonnet that comes stock. It just gives more room for the air to feed into the intake. If you look at the stock hood, the opening is quite small. Does it really work, I couldn't say yes or no, but it is what it is.

The reflash will be bespoke to my car, have had for quite sometime an off the shelf reflash based on parts, but the car will be tuned after the rebuild by J's and the stock ECU flashed with that tune.

 

May i ask what sort of HP you're getting with 12.5:1? Do you have a dyno chart that we may peruse? Were they able to get the rev limit to 7800?

I was thinking of doing something similar, hope to get the bits together someday. But don't know if it's worth the trouble. I was also considering boost but that would put the car in a different class, where this car is completely outclassed.

 

Only the front calipers /rotors were replaced? No need to upgrade the rear brakes?

I ask because i'm thinking of getting wilwood dp calipers keeping the stock rotors in front and was wondering if i should also do something about the rears.
