What did you do to your GE fit today?
To all the people who tape up their cars for road trips, I GET IT, but why not throw down the $100 for the nose mask????? It looks good and is definitely easier to get on and off than all that tape (at least easier to put on, maybe the tape comes off faster). Maybe you'd still tape up the pillars and mirrors, but...just a question, cuz I see so many pics of cars taped up...

....Plus all that cost me $10
Tape doesn't flap with the wind unlike nose masks. Last one my buddy had slowly beat away at the paint on the edges of the mask and it ended up making horrible marks in the paint. Since then none of us have used a nose mask. Just tape.
Description from College Hills Honda, originally from Honda I assume:
"Leather-grain, quality vinyl protects front paint from insects and minor road debris. No-mar fasteners and covered mounting hooks protect finish and allow for easy installation. Felt-lined backing ensures a smooth, wrinkle-free, protective fit that is slip-resistant and mildew-resistant. Multi-piece construction allows hood to be opened without removing mask."
I don't know...I've heard the same that these can wear on your paint after a while. I'm sure the ones for our newish fits are way better than the masks for a 96 civic, but do you guys still think it would destroy the paint after a while?

gross
Yeah. I think it's only worth while to get the mask if you do a lot of long distance driving. But even if you do highway driving daily, like me, the nose mask would be nice. Certainly looks better on a daily basis than tape! I mean you can put the tape on for a long road trip, but if you drive maybe 20 miles on the highway a day, well that adds up and you'll get chips in your paint just the same...
