Put my SSR Type Fs finally on. Needs a cleaning. Broke my wheel lock key while torquing down. Good thing it was the last lock and everything else was torqued down.
1 thing I'd like to note, the end of the mini projector does make contact with the circular reflector thingee as circled in red:
.....
said "reflector thingee" appears to be held down with 1 philips screw, you can see it by opening up your hood, and simply looking down in the area where one would reinstall a new bulb
Im about to throw down on this kit and see how it goes.
1. Can you get to the screw holding the reflector without removing the bumper and headlight housing?
2. Do you have a pic of it? If not ill investigate tomorrow on my 2017 and try to snap a pic.
3. Can the reflector be removed from the housing where the bulb installs?
4. The reflector may actually be doing some good preventing glare, wonder if adding a metal spacer to shift the reflector farther towards the front of the lens would help.
ill be looking at the housings more closely tomorrow. Pics and maybe a video! :-)
Threw the Yakima RocketBox12 back on for upcoming roadtrips to Monterey, So.Cal, Yosemite. Need the extra room to pick up the new shoes stuck in Pomona.
Also added LED Front (switchback) bulbs and rear LED turn signal bulbs. Planning to do the load resistor mod this weekend.
Hey bro is that the RS wing from eBay? Do you know if it'll fit my 2018 EX?
You mean wrapped? Or the whole hood is really carbon fiber?
Yes I mean Wrap.
I've looked into getting a Carbon Fiber Hood itself. But I've read that it doesn't fit snug like the factory hood and it's also prone to chips and dings from road debris.
I also considered painting the factory hood black. But I won't be able to go back to the factory color if I change my mind.
I'll try the Carbon Fiber Wrap and see how this goes. The shop I'm going to has a durable weather resistant wrap that lasts a long time.

It kinda depends on the construction of the "wrap" on how long it will last. 99% of what's out there comes from 2 or 3 manufacturers, and pray it's not the stuff from China. Even in the best of conditions, with the best film, it'll fade within a year or two (depending on exposure), and start to visibly crack etc within 5.

I'm not expecting the Carbon Fiber Wrap to last as long as the car. But at least long enough to get my money's worth. I've used the shop I'm going to in the past. Not for a Carbon Fiber Wrap.
1. Can you get to the screw holding the reflector without removing the bumper and headlight housing?
from my vantage point, I was unable to get to the screw. it seems you'll either need an amazing screwdriver and boat loads of talent, or simply remove the bumper and headlight
2. Do you have a pic of it? If not ill investigate tomorrow on my 2017 and try to snap a pic.
I didnt bother taking any overhead pics
3. Can the reflector be removed from the housing where the
bulb installs?
it should slip right out. I'd imagine thats why honda put a small phillips screw to hold down the little reflector ring
4. The reflector may actually be doing some good preventing glare, wonder if adding a metal spacer to shift the reflector farther towards the front of the lens would help.
I'm sure it does. the new led bulb appears to have its own method of focusing the beam forwards, and more than likely making the oem ring/reflector a non-factor. I'm no expert on the topic tho, maybe someone else can chime in and shed some light on this one
DannyJ recently did this, he may be able to offer some insight
@evilcharger's suggested projectors came in and were an absolute breeze to put in. No tools necessary and take about 5 minutes. Pictures of install aren't really useful due to location/ease of install. His concern about touching the reflective shroud are valid. Time will tell if that becomes a major concern. They fit as though they were meant for this application. 10/10 worth the money, even if they only last 6 months. More pics and thoughts in my build.
for those of you following the mini projectors topic:

Hey dude, do you know if the RS wing will fit my 2018 EX??
Did you buy one from Ebay or another site?
Thanks in advance!!!
I'm sure TougeMonster won't mind me jumping in - it's from AliExpress.
The Ebay spoilers are mostly the same. You can also find the authentic Honda spoiler on Ebay. Alternatively, you can give RHDJapan a shout as they can source just about anything.
Regarding fitment - the hatch is the same on the 2018 so you'll be fine. Just a heads-up, not sure if you're aware but even though it will fit, it's not really meant to so there are some holes that require patching up. Check the Spoon build thread or of course wait for someone with experience like Touge to jump in. Anyway, hope that helps a bit.

Looks amazing on the SSR's dude! Sorry to hear about the wheel lock, that sucks. Oh yea, love the led pillars you recently setup as well !
Well, that SHOULDN'T be too hard...I'm waiting to see if there's actually any problems created from leaving it in place.
Just threw down for the mini projectors, will be here Friday.
Been busy installing my heated mirrors and winkers (again) this week but before Friday ill see how difficult it is to remove the glare shield without causing any damage.

Lots of work done over the last few weeks. Recent mods - LED interior / exterior conversion, K-Tuner, Affection - Desire rear spoiler, Mugen tailgate garnish, and Mugen door handle protectors.
Uploaded a lot of new photos from the latest photoshoot and just wanted to share a few of them here as well.
