Looks good, is that the stock position. It looks a little close to the fuel tank. I guess that design helps to heat up the fuel a little.

That exhaust system is about as illegal as mine... You's an outlaw.

Lol ya it might unintentionally heat the fuel if I sat on the 2-step.

This is the old 1G, the laser, which I sold to a friend for a winter car, but it remains in my custody for another couple weeks while he has me do a few things to it.

I think they are only concerned about sound here for these pre-1995 cars. But in any case its certainly more legal than when I didn't have anything but a downpipe.

In scarier news.. Tym Lynch's 6 second dragster burned down today at MIR.

From what I've heard so far this was from a turbine wheel exploding, and one of those new PTE V-Band turbine housings burst (which they are definitely not supposed to do) and blew open the fuel cell.

So it looks if you are going to go V-Band, spend the money and go TiAl.

I hope he made it out OK. the picture looks likes he still in the car. I was looking for some of his runs and got lost with the homemade jet engines. He races some very interesting cars. I thought a 8 second car was fast but that 2 seconds is a big difference.

New PTE turbine wheel exploded inside a new PTE V-Band Turbine housing, that burst took out the fuel tank.

He is ok.

I hear some of these have narrower shafts than others, depending on which compressor wheel it has. What displacement is the truck you drive? Any idea on what service limit for boost is? I see folks routinely running 40-55psi on gas motors with these.

I think its 15 liters. I like the N14 motor that proceeded this. Cummins Engines - On-Highway - Heavy-Duty Truck - EPA 2010 ISX11.9 The motor is smaller than I thought. I have a '09 but came into service '10. It dont look like this but hold 45 quarts of oil. It looks like the 15 liter motor.

What I would give to be able to make +1600lb-ft in a "street" car haha

Though some of those engines weigh as much as the whole darn car.

Yes, I am waiting for the Kenworth's to come it with the new motor and I though they said it was the 15 liters. My truck dont need DEF fluid but the system with the EGR runs way to hot. It uses to much oil too. I got my mpg in city driving up from 3.5 to 5 mpg. People think 30 mpg is bad but compare it to a truck that averages 6 or so mpg combined. They like cutting in front and making the truck slam on the brakes and wasting fuel that gets passed along on every thing people buy. Maybe after reading this they will have some respect for the truck driver and it will help bring down the costs.

I know that was hard to see that car go, especially after working on her for so long. Now the feeling of success with the other car will be rewarding.

Now I have to get my sons to move on from the 2 cars that are in my garage. We ran the turbo and it still burns oil but not as bad. It sounds great and we have a oil leak we have to fix, hoping its not the turbo.

It is better to lighten your load and not have a mess of stuff laying around to rot... I have 3 Volvos 1Lincoln, 2 Cushman 3 wheelers,2 pickups, 2 BMW motorcycles a tractor, and a scooter sitting outdoors and turning into crap.... I still have more under 3 different roofs...

I have too many vehicles that need to go. The turbo is going to be fixed for next summer. The insurance is cheaper for my son than the van. The van runs OK and I have been driving it for a few days. The belt squeals but runs great. I have 3 Honda's, 1 Acura, 1 Jeep, 1 Chrysler, and 1 Dodge P/U.
