The stock one. It's not that heavy at 19lbs, but still could use a diet there.

Damn, that's going to be nice. Been thinking of a LSD in the future.

I really love your car & the improvements you've done.

1 way differential. Contacted Cusco and waiting for a reply about the differences between the LSD386F and LSD386C. The F model is only 1 way and the C model is 1 or 1.5 way. Price wise they are the same.

The good news about the diff though, the same model number is shared between the GD and GE. I contacted Quaife previously about their diff, but they were not sure if it would fit the GE and they sent me diagrams to research if I wanted. So for those of you who are looking for a helical type that doesn't need to ever be rebuilt, but doesn't have as much lock as a gear type, you can go with MFactory's helical as I believe they are using Quaife as a supplier (don't quote me on that).

I'm definitely excited at how much quicker the car is going to rev with the 4.687 versus the stock 4.294, the US GE already has a 4.62 final so not really necessary to swap. Still wondering if I should drop in the CR-Z first 3.142 versus the 3.461 stocker (USDM first is a 3.308) for less of an RPM drop on the 1-2 shift (nearly 500rpm difference). Losing top speed overall, but the acceleration will more than make up for the theoretical loss of 12mph at the top of 5th. Gearing with my daily 16" and 205 setup will result in a top speed of 127mph at 7100 and going to the 15" with 205 circuit setup will drop that to 122mph at 7100. The highest I have been in the Fit so far has only been 191km/h (118mph). Where this would suck would be on a track like Fuji on that long, long straight, would hit the limiter for sure because of no gearing. The USDM 5th of .727 (JDM is .853) would allow a higher top speed, but too much drop in the RPMs on the upshift from 4th if keeping the JDM 4th of 1.054 (USDM is .949). Going with both USDM 4th and 5th would see a drop in the upshift of about 450~550rpms. It would fall just out of VTEC on the upshift though, screw that. The Fit doesn't have enough power anyways to reach the USDM gearing ability. Though I would say for those wanting FE numbers, they might want to look at the JDM final drive as a replacement.

All will be installed depending on when I receive it all. The Cusco diff and fluid will be here on Friday evening, MFactory has said the final drive is in stock and I believe the clutch is alson in stock so depending on MFactory and SPEC sending USPS Priority and when hopefully prior to the next event on the 15th of February. Though still would need to accumulate some mileage on the clutch and LSD before going full tilt on the circuit. Time is going to be pressed.

Great info on the final drive & especially on the LSD!!!
So it's safe to say we can use a LSD from the GD's.

An LSD is a great upgrade. I'd like to see more people doing it to the GE so we can get an idea of cost, interchangeability, problems, etc.

My rep is all bad as in good since red is my favorite color. hahaha It's like half full or half empty; all how you spin it.

I don't foresee any problems, well maybe a permanent grin that eventually hurts my face muscles. :P I too wish more people would. It's not just for circuit running, would also be a help on the streets curbing understeer.

I've been trying to fix his too. But I only rep so many people now a days I never seem to "spread it around" enough.

Mostly because so few deserve it. This is the only board I've been on where Rep is considered a big deal, so if we are to gauge helpfulness/knowledge/experience off that this is one guy we need to get back on green

haha thanks guys and of course our one Texas gal.

My story, I'm a contractor currently working at an Army medical facility taking care of the IT network. Was doing the same job in Guam at the Naval hospital there. I am prior service, have been out now for 11 years and 16 days though. The Navy told me I had to leave Okinawa after having been there for 7.5 years and I told them yes I had to go and got out and stayed picking up a GS position. An opportunity arose for career improvement and I took the contracting job over in Guam and then a position had opened in mainland Japan with the same company and of course I took it. Love it here in Japan and hope to be here for as long as possible. Vacations in the US are not out of the question though.

Yes I think we could be good friends, think that way about a few members on this forum.
