How much did you pay for your Fit?
Note that it is over $15,000 plus delivery which is $750 plus fees which in Massachusetts is at least a DOC fee which can range from $299 on up.I have seen them at $599 at some dealers.(I lived there for 40 years). Now your really talking $16000 plus. Doc fee is almost pure profit for dealer. The final deal was most likely around $16200 or more which is about $1000 off which is a good deal for that area. I live in Maine now and I bought a 2010 SSM Fit base M/T for $14301+$339 DOC fee+$399 theft protection system with etching=$15039. After the deal I decided for $360 more to have the all season floor mats, mudguards, chrome exhaust extender, cargo tray installed. Also put in keyless entry for $40. It seems in California you can get better deals then on the East coast and by law DOC fee is only $55. Also alot more Honda dealers in California.

Here's an interesting article.
No deal: buyers will see fewer discounts for cars- Yahoo! Autos Article Page

Sticker on my car (2010 Fit Sport m/t Black) is: 16,410
Looks like I paid 15660. I thought I paid 15 flat but I guess I was wrong.
This is just the CAR price as someone said above... add to that 750 dest + 200 doc + taxes/reg (6.25% + 100). I also had to pay a locate fee because I made the dealer find me the particular trim/color I wanted. My total price was 17449.94.
Got my car at Bernardi Honda in Natick, MA. I was really happy with them. Very no-bullshit.
I bought all my accessories on ebay from Honda dealers (cargo cover and mats) for half the price the dealer wanted and I passed on all the warranties/etc the dealer tried to sell me on.
Hope that helps someone. The 0.9% financing they are running now is KILLER. I financed 10k over 5 years and when all is said and done, I will have paid ~$240 in finance charges...

Well, I just pulled the trigger on a 2010 Sport manual. $17,988 including all fees, tax, license and registration. Got the .9% for 60 months with no down. At .9% I could not see taking money out of anything for a down payment. The only down side is I have to travel 230 miles to pick it up. No other closer dealer would even match it. Next comes a hitch from etrailer.
I would tell them 14780+250 doc fee for a total of $15,030.That DOC fee is pure profit for them. If you do the other deal then you are really only getting $370 off. I just bought the same car in Maine three weeks ago for $15039 with DOC fee and it also including theft protection system with window etching that they charge $399 which I refused to pay so they threw it in.
Clearly I suck at negotiating $19,950. This includes dest, tax, etc. Tax in WA sucks 9.8%. Sport AT with nothing extra. I should have gotten up and left but it was the blue one that I actually wanted.
This is my first time ever buying a car though so forgive me. For future reference do people find it easier to get a better price if you accept the dealership financing and is that even worth it, I've heard so many horror stories about dealer financing?

Is it worth it?
It's hard to pass up 0.9% financing. My understanding is that the dealer gets a cut when you finance through the dealer which gives you alittle more room to negotiate. My credit union only offered me 4.9%, and the difference was over $3000 (if I remember correctly.)

Sure thing.
My farther knew the salesmen a bit. The guy didn't have a lot of experience and was waaayy too nice (good for us though! haha)
I even got the "Blackberry Pearl" color, which was just what I wanted.

What State/City did you purchase from?
Just bought my 2010 Base Auto Sensation Blue Fit this past weekend: $17,510 out the door (which includes $200 keyless entry - wish I had known I could program one myself!), with 0.9% financing. Nixed the free pin striping they were going to do thanks to posts on this forum. Love it so far!
They also sold me an extended warranty, which I had not planned on purchasing and had done no research on. The finance guy managed to convince me after I turned it down, because of my 20,000 mile per year commute and all of the electronic systems in the car. It's a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty that covers everything, with a $100 deductible. The total price was $1269. Is this even remotely a good idea? I still can't shake the feeling I've been had. Unfortunately I'm apparently not eligible to buy an extended warranty from the online dealers which are charging half the price because I live in FL and it's regulated by the gov't here. I have 60 days to cancel but am not sure what to do.
After all that money gone, I'm buying the rest of my accessories at Walmart.

Aftermarket warranty
Soulreaver, everything is regulated by the government everywhere. There are plenty of companies that sell extended coverage plans in Florida. My credit union tried to sell me one in June when I was shopping for loans. The biggest difference is that the one you got from Honda (just like I did) is (supposedly) an extension of the factory warranty. The one's you get aftermarket are just service agreements. I had one when I bought a used Dodge back in the late 90's and if you've read all the fine print before you sign, they can be a good investment.
Like you, I put over 20k a year on my car and would have hit 36k in less that 18 months. Extending the warranty is probably a good idea for us even with a car as reliable as a Honda. Just my opinion. For what it's worth, I went with a 6year 85,000mile extention (Platinum Coverage) and paid $1,074 from a dealership in Tampa. Enjoy your Fit!
