Well you may have the funds to do it before me

This being a home owner thing is sucking up my "fun" money. Granted its all improvements for my family's living/enjoyment as well as increasing my property value....but still! Coming up with an "extra" $900 for bilsteins is a tall order! Sure I can sell the swifts with OEM shocks to recoup some funds but still thats a nice chunk of change...granted its no where near JDM front end $$$.

My end goal for the car is a K20... that's after I buy an STi or Evo or M3

Have you thought about taking it to a dealership or Carmax, they will buy it from you. But you won't get what you put into it. We all know that.

Might as well get a car your happy with than keep holding onto a car you are trying to sell.

I have, but trade in value wont entirely cover what i owe. So ill be a few grand upside down in it. Thats why im still trying to sell it myself.

I do not want to roll negative equity into another vehicle.

I purchased a fixed back racing seat this weekend from Sube Sports in Huntington Beach. The Cobra Monaco Pro

I was all ready to purchase a Sparco f200 seat or Sprint V seat but the dealer talked me out of my buying a sparco for safety reasons. The Monaco Pro is sold steel fixed back seat that is FIA rated, while the f200 isn't rated and the sprint isn't solid steel support.

If you want an FIA rated seat by the big boys like Recaro/Bride expect to pay 2,000. I paid 400 for the Monaco Pro. The Corbeau Forza sport is also a FIA rated seat but it was made of a cotton fabric material where Cobra uses a high quality marine vinyl that is fade resistant, and being in CA we get a lot of sun.

I still need to order the brackets from Wedge and order some 2ohm resistors for the airbag bypass. But I can't wait to get in in and hit the track.

Wow Mr. Hollow,
Very nice seat and nice color combination/pattern too
Do this seat came in different sizes or just one size?
Do you plan to use the stock seat belt or you are going to have the racing harness?

How did that happen?

The car shouldn't have depreciated that fast. But i see your dilemma.
Well best of luck.

Thanks. The red was an easy choice. It comes in just standard size but its measured at a 36 waist size. I am a 32 waist size and it fits great.

I plan on using the oem 3 point, as using a 4 point harness without a harness bar and roll bar is very dangerous in a street car. Many people say its ok and others say using a racing harness without the proper safety equipment is extremely dangerous and can kill.

Although the guy at the shop told me about a Schroth 3 point harness. Which is very tempting. Its DOT rated which most harness aren't and it has ASM (anti submarining strap). It mounts to the rear c-pillar seat belt point and is above the 20 degree minimum for a racing harness angle, so no spinal compression in an accident. Also Takat purchased Schroth so its basically a Takata harness for much cheaper.

Its sized for a 36 waist. I fit in rather snug but its not crushing. They do make Wide versions of some of their other seats.

I didnt buy the car new, i havent had it really all that long. Maybe 2 years..

I think trade in value on these cars is ridiculously low vs what they retail for.

Roof rack and tow hook are almost done for the season.

Today I bought silverstars since one of my headlights blew, but for some reason the DRL don't seem to work after the install. Probably have to check the fuse tomorrow.

Got the car detailed yesterday. Wash, claybar and wax. Got rid of all the swirls and oxidation. Bottom of the bumper is considerably better....considering the previous owner never got it detailed/waxed.

Here are some before pics that kinda show what I'm talking about.

Pics at the detail place and then home. My car was the "cheap" car there as there was a ferrari 458, mcclaren and mercedes g-wagon there getting worked on as well lol.

I thought my car looked good when it was clean before....but MAN it looks freaking top notch now!

You dudes are so much more committed to your Fits than me. I intend to keep mine 8 more years, but only because I want to be debt free for as long as possible (or have freedom to afford an RX9 when they debut).
