Quality Issues with new Fit
Gents / Ladies... I am interested in two models (one yet to arrive) up here (Both EX MT) and their VIN numbers / manufacture dates are as follows:
26 Sept 14 with the VIN 102800
8 Oct 14 with the VIN 103706
Does the number at the end e.g. 102864 and 103708 show the production order ? all other comments I have seen here the max VIN number seems to be 30,000 - these are in the 100,000

Ok so - for VIN's above the 100,000
ie 100,000 vehicles and above off the production line (does that sound like a reasonable number since start if manufacturing ?) has anyone been seeing the quality issues like the previous earlier models or have the Japanese execs fixed the problems.
I am so very close to committing to one of these models up here (the one I want comes in next week) I am still on the fence. I have a 2007 GD1 and I am totally happy with the build quality I dont know what to do..

My August built one (US model) ends with FM7246XX but I doubt that means nearly 3/4 of a million.
Wow, I'm really surprised about all these issues that the 2015 Fits are having... Although I really wanted the 2015, should I be glad that we got the 2013 instead?
We had our 2013 Fit since March this year (almost 8 months old now) and the only problems that we had was a dead battery (since we left the headlights on for an hour) that was covered under warranty and the loose Honda emblem on the hood that was replaced under warranty as well. But there are some window rattles on rough roads.
My 2013 Accord did have a paint defect on the right side taillights that was covered under warranty, so I'm guessing a lot of Hondas are having paint defects these days...

I believe that only the last five digits are sequential. The "100,000" digit seems to jump around and is a "plant identifier" or "market identifier" in some VIN schemes. It seems to be "8" for Canadian Hondas, for example.
At this point production seems to be somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000

I am sorry to laugh at your misfortune, that is just terrible.
To be fair to Honda my built in Japan 2010 has none of those problems with 100k miles. I think you just happened to come back when Honda just opened a new plant in Mexico with new workers on a newly designed car.
There will be no QC problems they said. It'll be fun they said.
So not to worry, what happens when they hit 99,999.

Had a problem this weekend. Pulled into a parking lot, and tried to roll up my window. Window sounded like it was off it's track, and would NOT roll up. I had to help it up with my hand.
Went into the store, came back out, no more problems.
Also, does anyone know how to remove those freakin spots on the window? I have 4 large round spots on my window which I assume is from the factory where they held the glass on those suction cups, and it won't come off with regular scrubbing.
Also again, I changed the time on my clock yesterday, and somehow managed to delete my wallpaper. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I don't remember going into that screen.

Try toothpaste and a microfiber cloth and lots of lukewarm water. Toothpaste has a real fine abrasive; just make sure you have a steady stream of water
Hello all, since I've owned the car I've washed it more than a dozen times, and there was alway a little bit of water on the passenger side front door, on the inside. I dismissed it as a bad design and the water must have ran into the car when the door was opened.
Couple that, with all my misaligned doors, and the fact that none of my doors close properly with adequate closing momentum. Meaning, I constantly close my door, and it doesnt close all the way, and I have to reopen and close the door again, especially the passenger side doors. I don't have this problem with other vehicles. Anyways, since the rear passenger door sticks out on the bottom, and sticks too far in on the top, I dismissed the front door sticking out too far at the top and too far in the bottom.
Well after we got some rain on Halloween, I noticed there was significant water on the inside of the front passenger door. Upon futher inspection...

The rubber weatherstripping on that door is completely squashed and deformed, and water leaks through into the vehicle.
This was NOT one of the pieces of weatherstripping that fell off the vehicle when I opened the door originally (and was warped to begin with). Those pieces are the interior pieces, as can be seen in the pictures. Coupled with my misaligned doors the door leaks.
I guess I'll be going back to Honda. AGAIN. The wife won't let me sell the car at such a big loss
Also, getting a nice big clunk from the rear when coming to a complete stop a little faster than I normally would. Sounds like a spring unloading, then binding when the vehicle settles again.

You would seem to be a prime candidate for lemon-law reimbursement. It's really shocking that such defects are being found on a Honda. Sure doesn't bode well for the vehicles being manufactured at the Celaya plant, whether they are Fits or HR-Vs or whatever.
At the rate of all the defects in the '15 Fit, who will buy the first year of U.S.-released HR-Vs? Good luck to all of those people!

In my experience and others I've known, when you buy a Honda or a Yamaha product, the probability of getting an impeccable product is about as high can be had... or said another way, the probability of having a problem is about as low as you can get. The trade-off is God help you if you have a problem... you are screwed... their customer service will make excuses and go as far accusing you of negligence--certainly nothing can be wrong with their product. Now they have Internet forum reps trying to do damage control, but it all breaks down because their customer service really hasn't changed.
This isn't my first Honda vehicle... I've had Honda lawn mowers, Honda generators, a Honda motorcycle, and a buddy has a Honda outboard. I'll keep buying them because the odds are in my favor. I've seen the same from Yamaha.
BTW, Honda, I'm going to keep telling this over and over on this forum until you fix the problems from the early adopters of 2015 Fits, such as the fender liners, etc.
