Ah, so are you going to tune it yourself or have it done locally if you go with AEM FIC?

I still prefer K-Tuner if he can come up with full feature in about 1 month or 2...
but if I go with AEM,
I am going to buy base map from Chris since he is already use AEM successfully,
and later
I am going to take it to most likely Church tuning for fine tuning...

I just hate to buy the Boomslang for over $600...
but what can I do...

I have some fantastic news, Ktuner and I have found the disable byte for the Barometric sensor fault test! So no more P2227 DTC worries! He is planning to update the software soon.

No reason not to go K-Tuner now

My Acura RDX Injector arrived yesterday:

Still have to go to exhaust shop to do custom exhaust,
buy all new gasket from Bernardi Honda (just want to make sure eventhough
Sprintex install manual say to reuse old intake manifold gasket)...
bore out the Sprintex restrictor...
either Polish or Paint/powder coat the sprintex supercharger housing in Dark Grey
or Black color... (still undecided)...
find solutions for the MAP sensor (after boost) since my Sprntex is the concept 2,
then install DEFI boost meter, DEFI water temp gauge and use the Garage Amis
custom pod above the spedometer which I already have...
then if after I done all the above which should be around end of March...
and K-Tuner still do not have all the beta features (expanded map and injector resizing), the I will be force to buy the boomslang wiring and AEM F/IC-6...
Hopefully K-Tuner is ready so I can just buy K-Tuner... by around March (or hopefully earlier)....

Speed density would be a nice option. No more MAF sensor and it filter restriction. But I would need to find a IAT sensor that is compatible with KTuner.

Did you removed the SMT8 piggy and revert the wiring? How is the driveability? Is there any lost in power?

I just did my annual supercharger oil change after another 23,000 miles with total of 46,000 miles on the supercharger. The o-ring on the inlet pipe had to be change as well. I might look into getting a KTuner with eTune. The main motivation for KTuner is turbo charging.

Which one of this BETA features below is the most important / benefit
for our Sprintex Supercharger Application?
1. Real Time Tuning
2. Injector Sizing
3. Adjustable 2 step
4. Anti-Lag
5. Custom Map Sensor Support
6. Speed Density Fueling
7. Expanded Table for Boost
8. PWM Boost control

and if I am not mistaken, BETA means it is NOT AVAILABLE yet?

1. Not used if you are going to etune.
2. Can be acomplished with adjusting MAF fueling chart
3. How much drag racing do you plan on?
4. Only applies to turbo
5. Only needed if you plan to excede 10psi
6. would be a nice option for extreme setups
7. Would be great, but the hpd crz gets along fine with 10 cells
8. This would not apply to a sprintex setup

^Steven, I completely removed the piggyback wiring and sensors. The drive-ability is better overall, tuning with Turbogixxer has made noticeable power improvements too. The power is more consistent, he has been able to tune out noise. By noise I mean what the knock sensor sees when the engine is not under load. TG could tell that my intake and header was creating noise that the ecu was seeing as knock. He knew this because he had Protron's car as a reference (he is running stock intake, and exhaust). We have had to play around with the cranking fuel a bit too, but that was only in the cold weather.
Overall this tuning option is much much easier to use and understand. I would also like to play around with speed density tuning too! I don't know were we would need the IAT sensor though? Does it need to be after the SC? I do know that even though the factory IAT is integrated into the MAF it still has a separate wire into the ECU, so we might be able to find a similar sensor to relocate to the boost side. Maybe even use the Sprintex IAT sensor?

After the very informative read, the sole question I have is: has anyone tried using the SMT8L with the new plug and play harness? It seems that most issues were due to the old connectors and in some cases the SMT8L itself (whether that be due to the piggyback or outside circumstances). It's wonderful seeing more work put into this with the new KTuner possibilities, but if the new PnP harness proves itself I'd rather not shell out the extra cash on the KTuner route.

Seems that this has kind of died off lately. Also curious on pricing, since the SprintexUSA list price is different from most distributors I've found, but I figured that's something I'd look into myself if I tried to get a clearer idea of how the new PnP harness and SMT8 play together.

After swapping the inlet o-ring several times and never really trusting it to do it job I finally brought a straight silicone turbo hose coupler 70mm to 80mm reducer from eBay for about $9.00 and 2 stainless steel ABA hose clamps from a local marine store. The total for the two ABA hose clamps were more expensive than the turbo hose reducer at $7 each. Hopefully this should help solve the problem with leaky inlet o-ring as it ages over time.

Awesome, Limp mode has returned with all the misfire DTCs! I have not had a misfire code or limp for the 4 months since I have had the ktuner setup going. Then this week it has happened twice. Hopefully this will be easier to diagnose with the ktuner datalogs, if I can catch it. F--K!

Does Ktuner enable you to log short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim? I am interested in the both the short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim before and after the DTC. Do you have to drive with a laptop connected to capture the data?

Hi Jibberjabbs,
Have you find the solutions for this problem?
Thanks

I hit limp home today driving at about 45 mph and not aggressive on the gas. It has a while since I tripped limp home. Weather is not very hot today but I had the AC running. The 3 times in 2015 that I hit limp home during the summer was very hot/humid and the AC was also running. I rarely experience limp home in cooler weather. This winter has been uncommonly warm here in Tampa FL.

My car has 145,000 miles and ~48,000 with the Sprintex supercharger. It is time to swap in a new set of spark plugs.

So I really want to have this done after the warranty is up. Has anyone installed this completely stock? Well maybe with the exception of colder spark plugs. I really don't want to mess with a lot of custom add-ons.

I don't know if people noticed but the price of the kit has dropped to $2500.

When I just bought my Sprintex back in November 2015,
I sent an email to Kevin at Sprintex because Mike from Oklahoma supercharger (where I bought my kit),
point out that all tech question should be addressed to Kevin.

I did sent an email asking several technical question to Kevin,
Unfortunately, I never got any reply from Kevin...

Just now,
I am sending another email to Gary and cc to Kevin and Mike,
asking for their kind help to provide me with the latest Map/Tune on SMT8-L
that they currently use on their Shop Honda Fit,
since my Honda Fit have very similar configuration
(K&N element filter inside AirBox, 2 1/4in custom exhaust and remove inlet restrictor).

I hope they will respond.

I don't have budget to buy a boomslang harness and AEM F/IC-6 right now,
(total will be close to $1,000 plus dyno tuning cost that might add another $400 to $500) and if they don't respond,
then I have to wait probably another 6 months before I have the extra budget to buy
the AEM set up...
Which I will eventually buy since I like the AEM setup with larger injector
better and I will add AEM Water Meth Injection too,

but in the mean time, with my budget problem,
I will use the SMT8-L
and I want to make sure the map/tune will work right away since
I need this car for daily work, and I don't know if the tune currently in the SMT8-L that came with the kit is the "stock car tune" or the latest tune based on their shop car.
after thinking I realize that I rather enjoy my Sprintex right now than 6 months from now

I told them that I had been dreaming of having this supercharger kit for almost 2 years,
hopefully they will support the loyal dreamer of their product,
and make the dream come true sooner.

Gary just respond to my email !
He told me that the tune included in the SMT8-L should be fine.
I am currently asking if I could get the tune that he had perfected for his shop car.
Hopefully I can get that tune

Wow, I got almost all my questions answered by Gary through email today !
I just need to know the procedures to get spare belt and replacement O-Ring,
and once I know that, I am set for now.
Gary is very supportive. I am more confident in installing my Sprintex with just the SMT8-L for now. Gary, if you read this,
Thank You so much for your Great Support.

Forged Steel Adapter Fitting 90 Deg 1 4 BSPT BSP Male 5 16" Hose Barb C12 2 | eBay
Following d16punk tips above back at the CR-Z forum,
Thanks d16punk

I go to the link on eBay and try to buy one,
but they run out,
so I check the source and it is Kinugawa Turbo and they sell direct online,
so I bought 2 fitting from them:
Forged Steel Adapter Fitting 90 Deg 1/4 BSPT BSP Male - 5/16" Hose Barb C12-2

I plan to use this 2 fitting for my Defi Boost Gauge (on the way),
and for AEM Water/Meth controller sensor (still not bought it yet).

I need The original MAP sensor location on the Sprintex manifold
to act as the input for AEM F/IC-6 MAP sensor,
so I also bought this:
VitTuned Vacuum Barb Kit - Products

Hopefully it is the right size for Sprintex Map sensor opening.

Problem is I bought all 3 items above at the same time about 3 days ago,
and the Kinugawa fitting just arrived at my home today,
while the VitTuned Vacuum Barb Kit had not even ship yet...
I hope VitTuned will ship my order soon...

Here is the pictures of the Kinugawa fitting on my Sprintex Intake Manifold:

The Black Stopper is the Block Off Plug that came from Sprintex:

Now, I also plan to grind the restrictor on the inlet elbow and then polish the inside surface. I mark the limit to grind with blue marker:

while doing research on this I also realize
that I want to do port and polish of the intake plenum of the Sprintex,
because the casting process make the outlet of the intake plenum
to have some thick uneven surface,
here is a picture of one of the outlet of the intake plenum:

as you can see there is a lot of material that can be grind out (port and polish),
which hopefully will give a more laminar flow.

I just ordered a new intake manifold gasket from Bernardi Honda,
because I also want to do port matching with the gasket.
as soon as I get that,
I will do the port and polish...

Also I also plan to paint the supercharger left and right side BLACK
and leave the center part of the supercharger as is (since it is already nice matt semi polish aluminum look).
Hopefully this will make the engine compartment looks almost like
it is in stock condition/like this car come from factory already supercharged
